Denmark is similar to Switzerland, but not as strong and with less experienced players like Xhaka or Akanji. Germany will win, but for the Spain game .. will just depend on … we Germans say „Tagesform“ … meaning: how all circumstances, individual form and overall mood and shape accumulated, and the team with the better plan and tagesform will win, both is needed. A German squad on fire will destroy even the best plans, same for Spain.

This tournament is very reminiscent of 2012 when Spain easily beat France 2-0 in the QFs. Personally, I just don't see the French defense being able to hold off Spain's attacking talent.

Netherlands has the easiest path by distance. At least England finished on top of his group, and if they win the 1/8 game they will probably face Italy. Netherlands finished the group stage at 3rd position and they are facing Rumania in the first game and if they win (which is the most probable situation) they will face the winner between Turkey and Austria.

These brackets have a big flaw. If Holland and Austria will advance to the q finals (which is highly probable), two teams from the same group will meet again in such an early stage of the competition. World Cups (1986, 1990, 1994) had same organizing style, a total of 24 teams, and 16 teams advancing to the 2nd round, and didn't have this flaw. I don't get it why UEFA didn't use exactly the same bracketing like that use by FIFA, 30 years ago.

In Switzerland we would consider beating Italy as a historic victory. Sure, they did not play fantastically so far, but all bets are off now. I would not dare to underestimate them.

Overall value of the team. Romania lose to Belgium 0-2. Netherlands is almost similar to Belgium as value and style of play.

I've got a Germany vs Netherlands final. Germany on home turf will get them through games and I think they will beat Spain and then France in the semis. I know Netherlands already lost to Austria, but now there is expectation for Austria to perform and I think they will lose a rematch in the quarters and I can't see Netherlands losing to Switzerland, Italy or England in the semis. The quality hasn't been the best this tournament but its exciting that there is no real standout just yet.

Jules is such a smug. His France got destroyed by Portugal in 2016...

What does Jules mean he doesn’t care bout the other side of the bracket? All of the big teams so far have been either disappointing or boring except for Germany. It’s the underdog teams that have made this a fun and exciting tournament. The underdog side will be more entertaining. I don’t know why people keep undervaluing these smaller countries. It’s like they believe the hype just for the sake of it.

That game will be fixed and manipulated since UEFA will make sure that Germany, at least, reaches the semi finals of this tournament due to being the host nation. UEFA will compensate Spain later. Spain will bow down in front of UEFA’s demands and agree to deliberately throw away the game.

LOL not a single analyst chooses Portugal to get past the quarter finals. With arguably the most talented squad in the euros and unlike England and France, they won their first two games before resting everyone bar ronaldo and costa in goal for the gerogia "friendly". They are underestimating Portugal. What has France done in all 3 group games to make them think they should be the favorite. That midfield with Touchameni, Kante and Rabiot isn't creating anything from the midfield.

Okay sometimes some teams like Rumania end up 1st when no one expects it and if you are lucky you can be the team facing them as you ended up 3rd. The thing is considering they beat Rumania they will still have an easier oponent (Turkey or Austria)... and if all this is not enough they are also playing in the easier side of the brackets. In one side you have Spain, Germany, France, Portugal and Belgium and in the other one Netherlands, England and Italy.😂

France, England, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium have been extremely poor at this euro, with England being in my opinion the no.1 disappointment. At least 3 of them will lose the next round. And none of them will win the trophy.

The Italians ALWAYS scrape the first stage but don't always win tournaments...see all Euros prior to the 2021 edition. I can't remember the last time they qualified for a WC, so can't comment in that direction.
