Van Halen Rising talked about George and Ed being contemporaries and chatting about techniques when they were starting out. Has anyone seen video of George talking about Ed? Wouldn't be shocked if there wasn't any because of how personal it may have been. It's hard to imagine being at the beginning of such a huge musical explosion and George being personal friends with Ed. Awe inspiring.

Same. Although slowed 12 years back. Still played. But got rust. Wanted to dig back in this year. But will more once moved. But yea Dokken I have to admit was really the. Oh I’d like to do that, not for fame. Just do that in some form. Band. Then others. Peaked like 2003. Then broke off a tad, not much. Then more. But got hungry like last year. But ran into a Cant really play area, odd issue. Soon will get back too.

George Lynch has always been one of my favorite guitarist. Been a fan since the 80s. He's always been one of those play by feel and not by "Look how technical I can get" kind of guitar players. His solos are like songs within songs. He never over plays, but certainly NEVER underplays. It's always "just right". For as long as he's been playing, he certainly hasn't lost his edge - as can clearly be heard in some of his more recent projects such as: KXM, The End Machine, Dirty Shirley, and the covers album "Heavy Hitters", w/Jeff Pilson. One of the few guitarist who's solos I always turn up in every song Lynch is part of.

Well put Drew. WS Re-Imagined was hands down one of if not the coolest thing released in 2020. Would love to see George do that with some of the Dokken material and some other folks take the leap to revisit some of their best stuff to try and one up themselves. It would be like the acoustic craze in the late 80's early 90's all over again.

At least he still got all his hair and is in great shape for being almost 70. Let’s not forget in the late 80s, he was already an ‘old timer’ in his mid 30s surrounded by very competent and highly competitive teenage shredders many of who were GIT trained and he could put them in the shade. For most guitarists it would be ‘game over’ by that age. Quite a remarkable guy. He also built guitars and was a body builder too.

George really created a signature style of guitar playing, each note complimenting the last one doing that major - minor thing that made 80's rock/metal so awesome, he really took that to the next level. I think he has the perfect setup for a superstrat with a bridge bucker and a single at the neck with no middle pup. Cool shirt too, I wonder if Mr. Scary is an MC5 fan?

My first car was a red '75 Camaro that I bought in '86 for $400 from a fellow soldier in West Germany who was leaving for stateside in a week and needed to sell it fast. It looked almost exactly like the one in this video. Loved that car!

In the 80s, Lynch was my fave since he was a melodic, majestic player. The solo he did on Macalpine‘s „Tears.... „ was a staple when I was teaching my students rock solos at the time.Really fantastic.....another benchmark was the Jeff Watson/Brad Gillis interchange on „Don‘t tell me you love me“. I snagged many a look of disbelieve when at clinic’s I‘d perform a rendition of BOTH solos live to the metronome set on 176 bpm using 16th notes.....

Not only is he George Lynch. Not only does he have a signature ax. But he has TWO cool A&W signs. (Tiny frosted mugs of root beer are very metal when you're seven.) 😮👍💯🔥💀👏😎

Back in '89 I walked into a music store "Long & McQuade" on Bloor St right off Ossington Ave. in downtown Toronto and saw this guitar on the shelf. $700 at the time and I thought it was all the money in the world back then......glad to see it still being produced.
