@Area of Effect I actually just uploaded the first of my BG experiences with said build 😆 first of a couple to come.

man i love this one a lot! i will say it also has given me 2 more ideas with the first being a lightning necro that perhaps is really a soul manipulator and their lightning is necrotic soul lightning they use to violently drain the life of their foes also summoning undead from other realms to give themselves more necrotic energy to harness (detonating siphon) and another is along the same thought process but is primaily a healer who perhaps focuses on necro living death heals and maybe not even any bone abilities instead only focusing on using the ability to manipulate souls to force their allies and their own body back together! either way it sounds like a fun necro build that would be awesome to see done and thanks for continuing to make more good ass videos! :D

@@AreaofEffect if you like that then you're definitely would like also what are the bills I mentioned to you that I was going to do that uses kill Nars nightmare and every single bone spell I can possibly find to make essentially a true support that basically throws out all the defensive Buffs and defensive debuffs on enemies using as many bone abilities as I can that basically ensures enemies can't really do damage so rather than being a hardcore healer, he actually focuses on pretty much just making it impossible for the enemy to do shit and it's actually pretty fun way to play healer

I love these builds.. but more so these gnarly intros!! Hell yeah!

I made a tank build when I was new to this game and it turned out amazing. As a dark souls and try hard gamer, I found regular tanking way too boring. I made a stamblade redguard that was reliant on dodging and auto attacks. Cant remember the item names, but 1 set was 50% LA damage/50% attack speed bonus for 5 seconds every 15 seconds, then duelists set I believe that gave a lot of LA attack damage, that combined with the NB ability that gives sustain on LA hits was super fun. I would love to see a "probuild" out of a set like this. 5 seconds of high damage, with 10 seconds of reset time to focus aggro/resources/buffs/debuffs/whatever, was good fun and gameplay you had to have full focus on. Once I got high enough level to do veteran DLC dungeons it got pretty hard, but once I learned the dungeon mechanics it was very doable and a LOT of fun.

"fake" tanks have a really bad rep in ESO, it's quite sad. But hey that's fine with me, if people want to sit around waiting 30 minutes in dungeon finder for a DPS role, I'll happily take an instant que as a dps tank!

Make sure you have a “Charged” trait weapon and make sure it’s enchanted with a poison glyph! They always need to be inflicted with the “poisoned” status effect. And this combo will do it!

I didn’t have to use a frost staff, and instead could have used a lightning staff for bigger AOE damage, but I really liked the ice being the element associated with the theme (since I had to pick one). Thinking of taking this build, replace oakensoul with Pale order... And try a bow build. Bow skills have a ton of poison and will go with the theme. Plus could add an Arena bow in or a bow/2h for buffs

Draugrkins Grip is excellent with DOTS. I have a build in the lineup currently experimenting with it. Also a 5 piece set called “Deadly Strike” buffs DOTs by %15. As far as NOT swapping a 5 piece out… I’m not presently aware of any skill or passive that is classified as buffing “Damage over Time” abilities specifically. There is a 2 piece monster set called Maarselok that adds a disease DOT for 4 seconds but is amplified immensely by the number of DOTS and negative effects on the enemy target. Has to be a melee attack to Proc though.

Please please please, update the Stam Power Cure healer build. It's my favourite build ever even too this day.

What about going with guise of Sithis mythic to reach heavy armor levels on a medium build then you got another bar to add in more dps with a lightning front with the dps and ice back for the tanky sustain bar just an idea, I'm still kind of new to the game and theory crafting sets is what I love from other games, early wrath in wow I had made an unholy disease spec aoe death night tank before they made it so you couldn't do hybrid builds and killed my fun

great build !!! I would love to see a anti ganker NB build if you ever feel frisky, more like a "scout" build. Spot them mark them pull them out of stealth for group etc. I know there are some neat sets that boost stealth detect like sentry and way of air ( wood elf ofc for that juicy extra detect range ! ). Great to see how creative you could get with some lesser used sets on a build like that ! Keep up the great work and looking forward to what you bring next !!

Yes will work a bit better than the frost staff as it will buff both Proc sets, as they deal “single target damage”. As well as the light/heavy attacks and force pulse.

Amazing intro

First of, love the build ideas. Second would it be more effective if this was just a stamcro. Not saying to change it just curious what the benefit of running magcro is beside just raw fun

Thanks Christopher! Yes it really could very easily become a stamcro! Would it be better? Possibly, yes… depending on the player and the play style they are looking for and used to. I will say this though.. I feel like with all the range provided here with this setup, Mag and Stam effectiveness are very similar. That being said.. I also feel that the the lightning staff would actually be SUPERIOR in performance to a stamcro due to all of its AOE buffing you don’t get with bows or blades. But I went with frost for a bit more survivability and theme. ❤️

PVE tanking is fun business, but it can be challenging to make “off meta” builds due to the fact that a majority of the community (at least at the top end) wants cookie cutter meta builds with all the specific buffs and debuffs from gear and skills that are shown to be “optimal”. However, that being said, I’m sure I could find a way to stir the pot a little. Maybe I’ll try to find something to break in the PVE Tank department. 💯 In the meantime you have seen my PvP/PVE tank that I’ve already released right? It’s called the “Iron Bloodlord”. I’ll post the link for any and all who are interested!

The helmet was Baron Zaudrus The chest was Sai Sahan The staff was Thorvukon The shoulders were Ancestral Reach The gloves were Ancestral Reach (I think) The legs were Scalecaller (I think) The personality was Worm Wizard (makes the blue magic hands etc) The skin was Namira’s Bile Body Marks was Blessed Tree Markings (shows up UNDERNEATH Namiras Bile.)

You could use one of the following 5 piece sets: Defiler, Plaguebreak, or Venomous Smite. However you could also kick out Pestilent Host and instead use a full monster set like Velidreth, and use a special staff type like Vateshran, Maelstrom, or Masters for example. This option also allows 2 more pieces of whatever else you’d like. I recommend Trainee or Druid for the extra 2 pieces.

Whats causing the blue cloud effects around your feet? Are you using a staff just to be at range build?

Gesha is correct about the intention behind going for the pestilent concept. The damage bonus from the “distance traveled” on the Magicka morph would in fact be slightly higher. But not enough to really make or break the build. However Gesha is wrong about the builds limited ability to kill only PVEers. I get matched with high-end, high MMR PvPers that run an entire variety of Meta Builds. As a matter of fact I am in an extremely competitive Top-End PvP guild with a very active and almost full 500 person roster. They are called “Milk of the Poppy” on Xbox NA. And just about every single one of them would back up the ability to PvP at top level with most of my builds. Thanks anton & Gesha!!

@@AreaofEffect thanks for the answer, but my take was not on distance traveled, but on fire damage the magicka morph offers. Given that vampires are vulnerable to fire, it may be quite valuable. In any case my necro has been neglected for months, so I definitely will give it a shot. Great content!

this build only works for pvp?

It’s focused on PvP yes but I’m sure with some tweaks it could be effective in PVE as well. For example that amount of Stam recovery is unnecessary in PvE. Drop that down, raise the max magicka up to probably 30k and lower the health a couple thousand. Probably go with thief Mundus since breach will likely be given to bosses by tank. And maybe even drop vigor heals for something like the graveyard for stationary damage and synergy healing. These are just a few thoughts here!

When you say you can switch to Venom skull, that's with you taking into account that it's a stamina morph?

Ps, this is by far the coolest looking build I've seen for necro!! I'm new to eso and I'm grinding it out so I can have this as my end piece.. thank you!!

Yes! But that would be more for “theme” at that point. I mean it IS getting a big buff next patch so maybe it would be more beneficial than just theme?? But.. for that change alone, the extra cost of stamina to use that skill frequently would require a bit more stamina recovery. At that point, and I should have mentioned this in the video, you may want to change the Oakensoul to an “Infused” trait jewelry piece and swap out the Tri-Recovery glyph and put a pure Stam Recovery glyph in its place. That’s almost 300 Stam recovery right there!

You know it definitely has that feel.. but it’s still a bit more Magicka focused. Both of the 5 piece set’s benefit both stats, and yes, we are using the diseased blastbones that used Stam, but outside of that, with the destruction staff setup and the larger magicka pool, I considered it more leaning towards a magicka build than a hybrid. But you probably could get by with referring to it as a hybrid!

I love this game, but outside of playing it and seeing the combat in videos … just an ugly reminder of how visually unimpressive and boring the combat looks. The animations are so stiff, repetitive, and unimaginative, it truly lacks impact. That being said you put out some nice videos, and your editing is great. Good stuff.

The visual impact is a bit “lower value” or clunky at times isn’t it? Especially when you compare it to combat and visuals in games like Elden Ring! Or even Skyrim for that matter! Thank you for the compliments!

@@AreaofEffect Oh well I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to those games, even Skyrim despite how similar they are. Since those games are dedicated to single player experiences it wouldn't be a fair comparison. That being said I will compare it to games like FFXIV and Guild Wars 2 which are in the same genre. FFXIV may not have as much class build versatility, but each skill/ability/action has really great animations and is great to look at. Guild Wars 2 as well. ESO as far as the combat goes despite how much freedom you have over your build, just really lacks that visual impact, flash, and satisfaction. It feels floaty and clunky, and underwhelming.

@@Shibefu Never played those! I always figured it was the MMO aspect of ESO that resulted in the lower graphics and lack of visual impact, as compared to the single player experience games like Skyrim. However, in Elden Ring and Dark Souls, although they weren’t MMO’s, they did carry a multiplayer experience as well with several players, and I really enjoyed the combat mechanics and felt very immersed in the world with the lush visuals and graphics.

@@AreaofEffect As far as MMOS go, ESO's environments are actually really good. Probably one of the best mmos have to even offer. It's just mainly the combat visuals, characters, and armor that fall off for me. Elden Ring and Dark Souls have multiplayer sure, but it isn't as massive as an mmo, the cap on players allows for a significantly different output overall.
