Facts. It's the same in Korea. My first job obviously meant to have no experience and didn't really know what I was doing, but they just loved me so much. I couldn't figure it out. They took so many photos of me and made marketing material about it. They cropped out the kid crying in the background. Because I was wearing a nice suit and I was just a white guy with blue eyes. It was all marketing. That's all it is.

Ok I was considering China but after this I am not so sure anymore. And I'm also hearing bad reviews about how schools and recruiters scam teachers of their salaries and benefits. I've been teaching in Taiwan for five years and yes there is a similar practice of "white is right" but that has changed a lot over the years. Many of the teachers now are black and from South Africa because the schools notice our work ethic. I have mixed feelings lol

It is completely normal to offer, for example, between 28-35k or whatever. This is called a salary range. This is how it is done in education in most countries. People are paid based on their experience. Why should someone with 3 years experience get the same as someone with 20 years experience?? I have 28 years experience as an Australian qualified teacher, with the last 8 years being in China where I still am. You’re making it sound like you’re being ripped off….you aren’t.

It's racist and they have no problem with it. I get paid way more than the teachers from Africa. I'm not white (mulatto) but white enough. I'm not considered black, and I've an US PP. English isn't my first language, but they don't really care.
