Esipata-e-Eselenkei (Girls' Rights)
'Esipata-e-Eselenkei' is a short video exploring issues affecting girls in the Maasai communities of Loliondo, Northern Tanzania.
It was made by a small group of Maasai women and men, trained and equipped by InsightShare since 2013 with support from the United Nations Association of Finland.
The group are gradually establishing themselves as a unique and powerful autonomous community media presence within their villages. Countless images and representations of the Maasai and their culture have been produced by 'outsiders' - with little or no gain for the people themselves - but through the power of participatory video the Maasai community can begin to take back control of their images and reshape their representation in the world.

How I wish this mama was educated. She could be a very good radio journalist. The way she is posing her questions is so inspiring. Kimayian Enkai mama. Am inspired by this. I am a maasai girl and I fought my way out to get education, I fought for myself against all the odds and now I am an international journalist. To all maasai girls Esumata no Matter what just go to school. Emayaian Enkai olosho le papa o yieyio.💗💗💗
