In the description it says that Elegba likes to play tricks on people. This could not be further from the truth. He is in no way a trickster nor does he play with peoples lives. He teaches lessons by showing all sides of a situation and allowing you to choose what direction you wish to go. He is the gate keeper and messenger of the creator. Why would such a being be one that tricks others? He also represents the poor. When you see a poor man or woman, especially in Elegba colors, that is him. It is highly incorrect and disrespectful to refer to him as a trickster.

Paquta Estrada as I stated before, being a trickster is to try to scam or shame someone. Elegba does not operate that way. Yes he can be playful, but not in a malicious way. If there is confusion, Legba governs that because when a person is confused Legba is there to bring them back into balance. He keeps evil away from you, not bring it to you. It is a misconception that many people have because they do not understand the true nature of Legba and have not dealt with him properly.

Paquta Estrada I understand where you're coming from but a trickster is someone who cheats someone. That's the definition and Elegba does not do that at all. The reason why people will sometimes describe him that way is because they make the mistake of comparing him to the devil. This comes from the fact that the devil's colors are also black and red. They are not the same entity at all. Elegba is an Orisa, which means his task is to help and guide human beings. Even if you have "your own" definition for trickster, most people will still associate it negatively. This is why I am imploring to not think of him that way because is not and absolutely NOT a trickster. He comes in many different forms, 21 to be exact. And none of them manifest as a trickster. Some many be playful, and some are very serious. But they are all Elegbara. My family has worshiped him for decades and he has always brought clarity and sanity.

To open doors get a clean bucket, white flowers (you can buy a potted mom) your favorite perfume or cologne and cascarilla. Take a regular shower with soap. Remove one flower from mom and remove petals then add the petals, 7 spritz of perfume or cologne, water and cascarilla to Bucket then rinse your body from shoulders down. Air dry, no towel

@@nayb3168 I'll try my best... cascarilla (egg shell powder or grinded egg shells) are used in Hoodoo and other practices for cleansing, purification, protection, also breaking bad luck and instilling growth. Using this after you clean your body the physical way along with water, white flowers (white for purity, again cleanliness) and your perfume (your way of identifying yourself with the Entity/Spirit) will give you a spiritual cleanse. That phrase "Cleanliness is next to godliness) is multiplied when doing this ritual. I will advise however to read and know what your thoughts are to make sure your energy is channeled correctly. I am at a crossroads in my life. I have my warriors at the door and am really working them so I can experience abundance.
