The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is a rally version homologation special of the fifth generation European Ford Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, in which it competed between 1993 and 1998. It was available as a road car from 1992 until 1996. The powertrain was only fitted to this version of the Escort, a longitudinally mounted Cosworth YBT, a highly tunable turbocharged 2.0 L (1,993 cc) with a bore x stroke of 90.8 mm × 77 mm (3.57 in × 3.03 in) Inline-four engine[1][2] which had an output of 227 PS (167 kW; 224 bhp) in standard trim. Tuning companies have achieved power outputs in excess of 1,000 bhp (746 kW; 1,014 PS)

Loved the battle with the welded nut being fully documented. Lots of people would have edited it out.

Made the video that. Then for it to come out anyway. Class.
This is everything we wanted on wheel dealers , no fake buyers no messing about a very educational video , subscribed ❤️
I wet myself when you cleaned the fuel filter bracket ... Just pour cleaner all over it and over the wood worktop/chopping board. Class act.😂😂
Tip for removing anything stuck to paintwork. Heat up with a hairdryer, the heat reactivate the adhesive. You won't need to pull as hard, also lessons the strain on the surface it's stuck or bonded to 👍 love your videos and content, really easy to follow 🤜🤛
Nearly spat my cup of tea on the screen when you were welding those nuts (and your spanner) on mate FN hilarious - great work 😅

Try changing your temp sensor, the ecu reads from the temp sensor and adjusts fueling to suit temp.
@alancobbin
8 ай бұрын
Exactly,I did put this in the first video, when the ECU coolant temp sensor completely fails it will show up as an ECU failure fault code, makes the car run like a turd and will cut out and won’t restart until it’s cooled down ,I’m surprised Adam hasn’t scanned this as the OBD port is on the N/S/F suspension turret near the battery.

Agreed, check the blue temp sensor at the back of the head.

Weld a washer first. Then nut to the washer, 10x easier and better method.

Easy to measure the sensor resistance.
It is so nice to see a real project for a change
Think it’s basically every blokes dream to have a cosworth in his garage to tinker with, class content Adam
That was comedy gold welding those nuts 😂, thanks for leaving that in still chuckling now.
When I wanted to remove a stuck on front reg plate on my old Corrado, I used a heat gun to soften the glue first. Loving this series! 👍🏻👍🏻

Cracking video Adam loving this series
Love the new hoist Adam and enjoy watching ya videos in new Zealand man . Keep up the good work look faward to seeing the escort cozy progress 😊
Hi Adam enjoying the content with the new project, when i fit new plates i measure the plate, then i place masking tape on the bumper top and the 2 sides make sure the tape looks and is level, then fit the double sided tape and the place the number plate under the masking tape and inside the 2 tapes on the sides. Another tip, when removing glue residue from vehicles body panels i use mineral turps to clean the glue residue, let it soak on the glue, then rub with a soft rag. Plus the mineral turps will not damage the paint.
Great video Adam 👍
Great progress so far!
Great work Adam! Some great info in your videos and sure you inspire plenty of people including myself to have a go at jobs on there own car
Hi Adam and fellow Mackem, loving your journey on your Escort Cosworth, can't wait to see you get onto the road 👍

Hello from Stockton on Tees Adam, good call on the number plates those Euro/UK plates are hideous, then when I saw the Nesham main dealer plates going on so many good memories of the early 90's they had a place in Thornaby and Middlesbrough were I used to get my parts for my Sierra XR4i and XR4X4 back in the day, good times!
Great videos Adam 👍
The amount of those bumper clips I’ve lost over the years , I’ve just put a tied string on mine now so when they do pop off,,it’s dangaling on said string and not lost , nice progress mate
Appreciate all the explaining still! :D I'm learning good from this, and are building up the nerves to do shit myself :)
“Using my paint booth” 😆👍. I’ve done exactly the same in the past 😆👍
Well done Adam u will get there 👍
Hello Adam Looks like ii was right in my previous comment of changing the crank position sensor as i described it was the exact same problem my previous Escort cosworth had and the CPS was the fault Fingers crossed no more engine cutting out now. All the best Nigel 😎
Another Great Vid Adam🤩🤩👌Black screwcap cover for the N on the rear plate🧐😂😂👍

Great video pal Just like the saff videos, the escort is looking better all the time. Neashams of Teesside was in Middlesbrough, there’s now a cinema built where it once was.
Top work Adam 😎👍
Good job 👏👏👏
You should have altered the hole on rear plate to side of number N so yellow screw cap is not over the the black letter or try it with a black cap to blend it in better. Really enjoyable video, cheers Mick

You do make a good video Adam. 👍 keep up the good work 🫶
love your videos!! -kepe up the good work mate! :)
Hi Adam! I would install a A/F gauge and maybe check some volts on the ecu very carefully. I would be careful with the breakcleaner around plastic, especially the Plugs/wires. Can do more harm than good. For this you can get special contact cleaner spray. Also note: open your garage door if you leave the cossie idling! 💀 Better safe than sorry. Next time a bolt is round, try cuting a line into the head so you can get it loose with lots of rust remover and a flathead screwdriver. Or you could also get yourself a small torch like for cooking and heat the bolt right up until it glows. I know, that also wouldn't be ideal next to the fuelfilter.😅 If you remove anything sticky the next time heat it up with a hairdryer. Just not too much or else you'll damage the paint. I would've rather closed the holes from the rear number plates and just to minor paint adjustments since its behind the number plate. With this now it could start to rust. You can also write the current milage on the fuel filter with a water resistant marker. Just some small tips from one DIY-fella to another one. ✌️💪
Good update - love that comment about men’s Ugg boots haha you’re right …
The Idle Air Control Valve is infamous on our V6 Mk3 Mondeos, It does not usually cause running problems but makes the car produce a crazy sound known as Moosing when you come off the throttle.
Class mate.
