Zero Mission's escape doesn't have the triumphant ending because of the fact the game is roughly 2/3rds over by that point.

I was surprised the first time I heard it in NEStroid because I had already beat Zero Mission before it. Seriously weird that it wasn't included in that game.

That triumphant-sounding bit at 1:20, the part that’s apparently exclusive to the NES version of Metroid, I always felt like that sounded like something out of Kid Icarus… which makes sense, after all, Hirokazu “Hip” Tanaka composed for both of those games.

Hey Jonny I just want to say that I’m a huuuuge Mario fan and you have the best game covers ever especially the Mario songs like buoy base galaxy, toads factory and more keep up the good work man. Before there was It’s Pizza Time! Before there was Collapsing Time Rift. Before there was Hurry Up! There was Metroid. As it All Crumbles Down (Underhero)

Heck yeah! My favorite Escape theme in the series! I actually adapted it into Music Tiles in a Mario Maker type Game called LevelHead a few years back, good stuff! Really wish they would use this theme more often in the Metroid Series, instead of just using Ridley's theme or some other generic escape theme (Looking at you, Dread XD) This just has an energy that is so unique, a great combo of urgency and heroic victory! As always you are doing it more than justice, this remix is awesome as heck!

The triumphant bit at 1:18 has always screamed 'Kid Icarus' to me. Brother and sister game indeed! Same composer even. Great track as usual, man. Keep it up!

I first heard this tune in Prime 2 Echoes against Dark Samus.

Epic releases would be: 1. "Danger" (boss battle theme) - Secret of Mana. 2. Battle Mode (full loop) - Mario Kart on SNES. 3. Anything from Shadowrun on SNES. Holding out! 🙏🏆

Wario and Metroid are linked in multiple ways. Heck, Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission both used Wario Land 4's engine, I believe.

Kartikeya komposing for day 431! Kartikeya finally livestreamed again last night! Finally feel less like I've been doing nothing lately. Was trying to stream some of the myriad of Pokemon Rom hacks I got over the panic-demic. Tried one called 'Hyetology' first and the game kept crashing to the point I have put it in my newly appointed 'rom hack jail' which is my old original Nintendo DS travel case. It honestly works quite well for it aesthetically. Then tried 'Mega Power' and this one crashed a few times but once I got my first pokemon, it worked absolutely fine afterwards. Spent 2.5 hours on the DDR mat on it. Though it wasn't all smiles. You remember Luxx? or as I often referred to him by his last name Tallett? Well him and his buddies decided to freaking RAID me during my stream last night and all act none the wiser about it. Maris (one of his 'friends') showing up and acting as if he didn't know that Luxx (whose name had changed to 'timewarptavern' at this point had NOT already contacted me some 6 months ago trying to 'set up business' once again with me but being far more blatant, asking for my physical address this time!

I like how this piece is in the middle between an action and ending theme

This is the one I was hoping for when we saw it was NES Metroid. I'm sure everyone was expecting Kraid's Lair, but I'm glad we got this instead.
