Couldn't agree more! Our daughter and her husband have a wonderful beagle that they dote on. That beagle has more power and energy for its size than any dog I've ever seen. And it has separation anxiety to the max!

I also had a beagle a couple of years ago. And I can only agree. Not surprised it is a beagle. Smart and independent dogs.

I had some beagle pups when I was a kid and we had them in a pen made of chicken wire with no top. At one point after putting them away all 5 would soon be out. They, like this one, learned how to climb the fence. Thanks for reminding me of a pleasant time in my childhood.

Love the reaction of the other dogs. They're like, "Hey. That's a good idea. Let's see if it works for him."

Beagles are the most terrible stubborn dogs, but at the same time this is their most charming trait! :D

I used to have 4 beagles and that's how these dogs roll. They can seriously break out of ANYTHING if they put their mind to it. Ive seen them: stand on each others backs to nose open a gate, dig a 15 under tunnel under a 3 foot deep cinderblock wall in the span of a night, and even figure out how to wiggle out of a choke collar (I have no clue how). Beagles are crazy dogs, and that's why I love em. :)

The dog putting its paw up to the cage after the escape is the icing on the cake.

Or beagles in general. Their sense of smell gets them to do very creative things. I've seen them in action. I think one of the things I love about beagles is their power to analyze everything with a "is food involved?" and joyful attitude.

hahaha - I have a beagle and this doesn't surprise me in the least. The funniest thing is the look on the other dog's faces.

Not just beagles either, my family used to raise poodles and horses, and the would climb over 7-8ft horse fences. Dogs are a lot smarter and more dexterous than we give them credit for.

There's nothing cruel about that kennel. there's lots of space, covered shade, lots of space to walk around and lay down. There are also very few dog's in a very large space. It's actually a very nice setup for a kennel.

I wouldn't worry too much about the state of that woofer. Beagles are REALLY tough! Whenever I stand on mine they just look at me and say "is that the best you can do?".

Wow what a smart dog. I would have been out there for hours trying to figure out how it keeps getting out. LoL now that I think about it the person that set up the camera was pretty smart too.

What I have done & do - give my dogs a life, both physically & mentally enriching. Not stuck in a cage. Some one who keeps animals like this deserves to get a taste of their 'own' medicine.

tracker dogs are geniuses. i watched my dachshund escape her x-pen when she thought i wasn't looking much in the same way, little rascal.

I could hear the theme song to 'Mission Impossible' playing while the dog was escaping. I found it interesting that the owner was obviously trying to figure out how the dog was escaping by filming it, since the hole at the top of the door had already been patched. I would never had suspected the roof as the escape point. I wondered, the whole time the dog was climbing, as to how it would get through those patched boards covering the hole above the door.

Spain is not known for it's animal kindness. These guys are probably lucky compared to the average dog. Crate-trained dogs in the US have less space, but probably get out at least for a few hours in the evening and mornings.

and then they're like, "Hey, I want out too!"

to all u people that are talking trash about the dogs owner...it seems they live in a tropical climate and they keep the dogs caged up like that when they arent home to keep them safe from wild animals.....those dogs arent very big and a wild bore would easily make them dinner...anyways i think it was funny and kinda cute hehe =)

It's a damn shame that these dogs were all locked up like this in the first place. Dogs are social and physically-active creatures that need interaction and room to breathe. Kudos to Sofia.

The most amazing thing is that animal new the ropes. You can notice that the top of the door frame has been blocked with wood planks because of earlier escapes. Lo más sorprendente es que el animal ya tenía práctica. Por eso se ve que el dueño bloqueó el marco superior de la puerta con tablas para evitar escapes. Pero la perra se las ingenió igual.
