Erule - Listen Up [HD]

Erule along with his partner/producer King Born Allah dropped a lyrical heavy weight hip hop classic on the masses with "Listen Up" in 1994. Released on Pallas Records "Listen Up" got minimal attention. Erule eventually became a regular household name in the underground scene. Erule continued to release 12" singles in the late nineties all the way through the early quarter of the 2000's. Finally in 2001 Erule released his official debut independently titled "Cold Currentz." "Listen Up"utilizes Roy Ayers "Everybody Loves Everybody Loves The Sunshine."

I was listening to this when it first came out. In 94 I lived in NYC but I was listening to as much West Coast rap as I was East Coast. Cube with Lethal Injection and Death Certificate, Souls pf Mischief, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Digital Underground, Ahmad, Ras Kass, The Alcoholics/Likwit Crew, Pharcyde, and Erule, of course. I couldn't find "Listen Up" on streaming sites like Spotify so I hit KZread up. YT never lets me down.

I was there at Pallas when ERule was there. People never got to hear this labels full catalog because the executive that signed all the original artist like Giant Storm, Erule, The Bushwackers, The Aliens, and some others was cut out on the release after all the curating. Most of the artist didnt even get copies of their masters etc. Who ever get that catalog going to have some magnificent music.
