@@iwonderifdrugzarebad Impulse took only about 3 full listens for me to fully appreciate that album. Garrison was the lead vocalist on Impulse and Augment, and Alan was the rhythm guitarist who wrote a lot of songs on those albums as well. He does a band called The Artificials with his wife now, Garrison was featured on one of their songs on their LP Heart.

They dropped this album too ahead of their time 100%.

One of those that just gets better. You can never go wrong with bumping this. In fact, I think I’m listening to this more now that I have Apple Music and Bluetooth. The new 18 year olds at work be like “WTF IS AN ERRA”

Impulse and Augment will forever be Erra's greatest works. Garrison probably doesn't even know he laid vocals down for the greatest two albums erra ever wrote lmao.

@@dylansmith3 I mean, novelists were way more metalcore /djent thand they are now, when Matteo left I felt they just turned into more aternative rock. About Erra, when Garrison and Ian left and jt joined I felt that they became more djenty than metalcore, my opinion tho

Parkerthemotherflower Thing is, a thing done all the time loses its impact. It just feels more impressive when a guy goes that high after singing comparatively low the entire song. And yeah, it IS a bit ear-piercing too :D

@@markspeza4853 yeah Augment is just a wayyyy better Impulse imo. Impulse had great songs on it which makes it definitely a top pick in albums of all time, but better than Augment? no way in hell. I will admit, Impulse grew on me a lot more in recent times. And I actually am starting to believe it's stands side by side with Augment. Something about the dark atmospheric melodies are just so unique and gripping.

​@Joe Villa i doubt the metal community in general cares much more about drift or neon. i said the metalcore community. i've seen nobody say what you said about the first two. what i've seen many times though is that their two latest albums are poorly mixed and that the new vocalist has no range. for example on sputnikmusic the average rating is 3.9/5 for augment and 3.7 for impulse (4+ ratings are rare on that website, especially for metalcore). drift and neon only got 3.4.

I think what ERRA fans appreciate is the sheer musicianship and dedication to the craft. My ears are different when I listen to ERRA because I know about to listen to something real and created from scratch. Luckily the dudes in ERRA have come together to bless the genre
