Een mooi lied. Prachtig tijd!
erg mooi liedje Ernst Jansz 😍
Raakt me diep...
Can anyone send me lyrics for this song? :)

Here's what the song says. I translated the lyrics as closely as possible I remember that old house A farm in the province of Brabant When us weary travelers from Holland Made our home there As we arrived In the later part of the sixties Just some boys and their guitars Left our childhood homes forever. With the forests surrounding us, we were convinced that we would be the ones who could relieve the dept we owed to the world and each other That our ideal could turn to tide and stop people to fight over power and capital. There were seven of us As we started constructing our rooms Using our sledge hammers To knock the walls out of the barn Oh the winter was cold and brutal But we always kept on going As we used those months To create our own castle of dreams. I was a Hippie Which is what I used to be I was a Hippie I still am, maybe We played everywhere Everywhere we could Sang until our throats were raw At every party and every festival In those little pieces of paradise on earth we were always richly rewarded by the dancing naked girls And everybody was stoned Make love not war Was what we truly believed in It was the sermon that we preached To everybody willing to listen And we would pull all-nighters Sitting by the bonfire playing songs, telling spooky stories until the dawn came around. I was a Hippie Which is what I used to be I was a Hippie I still am, maybe It's over World peace proved impossible to achieve Tired of our battles We ended up moving back in our old homes With our feet planted firmly on the ground below us Our castle now abandoned Where the cold wind blows and only cobwebs remain. But now in my final hour I would give everything to have just one moment Find myself once more at the bonfire My friends surrounding me as we sing those songs Tell those stories To live that ideal that you will never lose in the end I was a Hippie Which is what I used to be I was a Hippie I still am, maybe
