Scared Stupid had my favorite gag in ALL the Ernest movies, and it was twice in the movie. He says "I never knew when to quit! Just ask my fourth grade teacher!" And it cuts to this stern woman in a quiet classroom with Ernest as a kid writing on the chalkboard, and all deadpan she says "He never knew when to quit." And he starts scratching the chalkboard and she smacks him in the head.

I love that line *'Now, I know what you're thinking at home. "Kevin, you've ranked these movies every episode..." Well Jackass, we're going to do it again!'*

Ernest in the jury box with his pen exploding is as funny as any scene in any Ernest movie

I honestly think the Ernest movies got better with age. As an adult, I really appreciate Jim Varney's acting range, and they clearly had fun making them - especially that Ernest Rides Again theme song.

Better than all the woke shit they have now. They make the Ernest films look far more appealing.

As someone who didn't grow up with Ernest at all, this review series has been one of my favorite things I've watched in a long time. I don't think I've seen anything with Varney in it besides Toy Story, but I've really got a newfound respect for him now!

It was cool to see someone breakdown these movies in such a strong fan like passion. It’s kinda like when you get a few hardcore Three Stooges fans together talking about their favorite episodes and going over which episode had the most or best jokes or them in their best full-form routine.

I came home from work one day, & herd my kids laughfing their faces off. Checking what they were watching it was Ernest Goes to Camp. My kids love Ernest. Gotta find more Enrest for them😂. Ernest saves Christmas is super under rated as a Christmas special.

N: - You remember seeing it as a kid? R: - Yes. N: - You remember liking it as a kid? R: - No. N: - (sounds of defeat) lol

I saw Rides Again in theaters, my lone Ernest theater experience, lol.

Sad that it's over but glad that it happened.

I want the other Kevin James and Ryan Murphy to rank the Ernest films.

I'd watch you guys review mediocre film series 7 days a week if I could.

I guess we do know what he means after all.....

What I love about The Witches is that a freaking child mouse and his diabetic grandmother became the greatest monster killers in history. By the end of that movie they had better funding and better intelligence than S.H.I.E.L.D.

I feel like you’re filmmaking sensibilities got the better of you by putting Jail and Otto so high. My family loved Earnest but Jail was one of the least of them. But I appreciated you saying this is your list, the Guaranteed Video list. And I respect how you got to those decisions. Loved watching this series and maybe in the future you can do similar series lists with actors or characters like John Candy or Pauly Shore. Thanks.

Saw Ernest scared stupid in the theater when it came out as a kid. My little sister (5 yo ) at the time had night terrors for months afterwards. We love Ernest. Goes to camp is our favorite.

I hope this series doesn’t stop. I know Ernest is one thing and you guys did a great honest job on reviews of these “films”. I would love to see you guys start another series. I have no suggestions. Maybe land before time? I dunno.

@@GuaranteedVideo I mentioned this in another video but this past New Year's Eve I was watching Old School New Year's Eve ball drops and came across Ernest during the 88 to 89 ball drop easily findable on KZread which is where I watched it. I think it would be cool to.mention noticeable appearances in future videos.

I am a huge Ernest fan and I agree we have to keep talking about him to keep him in the public conscience.

I have watched this series from the beginning and am genuinely bummed that it's over. I don't know how you guys can top this nostalgic train ride, but I'm hoping you try. Any chance you guys could potentially rank every Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes? I feel like you guys would slay that. Great work, guys!

ive always been a little baffled at ryan's shift on christmas. in the original episode, he's totally on the side of it being fun and heartwarming, but for some reason, he bluntly says it sucks in this one. opinions can change, of course, im just curious what brought it on.

I hate to be this person (and I'm sure you guys have heard this), but, why haven't you guys covered "Knowhutimean? Hey Vern, It's My Family Album"? Dr.Otto arguably only had Ernest for a quick minute and yet, its on this list. I think its worth an episode to explore the family album as Varney explores many characters that are hinted toward throughout these movies. Though, I understand if you guys are burnt out.

I recently watched Onyx The Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls which tries SO hard to be Scared Stupid and completely forgets you need to make your weirdo manchild lovable.

I've never seen Ernest. I don't plan to, but I think I know where I'd start now if I did. Just great to hear your thoughts on these movies. Thanks.

If I had seen that ice cream commercial as a kid (who loves the Ernest films) and they actually let him say bullshit on TV, I probably would've laughed so hard that I would not be here to post this comment as I'm laughing at the outtake again as an adult.

I admit I initially skipped out on this series even though I've been watching all of Neil's videos since forever. But damn was this great. I've never seen a single Ernest movie, and yet now I'll defend that man with my life.

I grew up on most of the Ernest movies and I loved them as a kid. If there were adult jokes I never noticed. Also surprised to see you guys pick Jail for #1 cause that one was always my Favorite followed by Scared Stupid and Camp

I did it! I completed the definitive ernest movie review series! Great job!

In my opinion the hidden gem of the Ernest body of work is the Saturday morning tv show "Hey Vern, Its Ernest!" It was a children's show written by John Cherry and Coke Sams. They were able to experiment with Jim Varney and the Ernest character by putting him in short funny skits. Even a callback to Dr. Otto and other inside jokes here and there. Very well done series. And thank you guys for giving Ernest some well deserved coverage. He seems to be forgotten and missing from a lot of the recent Nostalgia trends.

Where'd you guys get the Ernest vest and hat? I'd love to have my own Ernest wardrobe

I see I wasn't the only one waiting for this day.

Looking up his IMDB I see that he was on *multiple* variety shows in the 70's, (Hee-Haw and the type of stuff my Grandparents would watch). Funny to think there's an entire era of Jim Varney material out there, some lost and some only on those big VHS sets of stuff like "Pink Lady and Jeff"

I thought the message of school was that smart people are mean😂

Actually, one of the episodes of an old series and fanmade characters I made was inspired by Goes To Jail Kyle, Cody's dopleganger (Cody from Total DramaRama)

Ernest Rides Again was the last Ernest movie I loved. I didn't like Slam Dunk or School very much and Army even less. Also, when I first saw Africa in a video store I was surprised they'd made another one. I'm putting Rides Again at 5.

you guys should check out "Billy and Bobby the Whacky Duo On Vacation". it's the silent old guy from the ernest movies reprising his role, and someone else re-casted as the fat guy. made in 2010.
