Erling Haaland Wins FWA Footballer of the Year Award!

Erling Haaland says he is loving life in Manchester after winning the Premier League title and breaking a 29-year goalscoring record.
The City striker has had a phenomenal season since moving to the Etihad Stadium in the summer scoring 36 league goals in just 35 appearances to set a new milestone for most strikes in a single campaign.
After such a brilliant campaign, Haaland was voted as the 2023 Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year with more than 80 per cent of all the votes cast.
He was presented with the award on Thursday night and said his first season had gone even better than expected with 52 goals in all competitions with three games of the season remaining.

This guy is quite dumb isn't he? In every interview he just answers "I feel good, I'm good, it's good"... Man if you win the Footballer of the Year, you could say something like "Damn, I've never imagined myself in the same room as these legends, I've never would have dreamed of it, it's a great honor for me to be honest, I remember watching this guy and that guy, they've done incredible things" Man learn to talk!!

@@walterhwhite9933 maybe in some regards as he is an amazing striker, but with the role is is playing for the team not only does he need to score more goals than they did, he also needs to stay injury free for a decade and maybe then some.

Kevin has been and is an exceptional player. Agree, you need the set up system in order for the striker to score goals. Football is a team sport, every player on the pitch has to do his best.

Why are people so obsessed with dribbling? As if that is the most important part in football. Have you seen how tall and big he is? Its much easier for someone smaller like Messi with a lower center and more balance to make a dribble than someone with twice as long legs….just saying. He has his strengths and he will only be better.

Go watch his games with Dortmund. As he said in the interview, when he looks around him, he sees so many good players, ones who are better than him at dribbling, so he immediately passes, even when he has a chance himself to take it forward. That's also maybe an instruction from Pep, we don't know behind the scenes. He didn't do this at Dortmund. But here he knows he is the best at finishing so he sticks to his job and let his teammates do the rest

@@T33K4Y yes, exactly! That would put so much fear in other club’s that it would be such a huge advantage! He’s already a master striker. Mastering dribbling would make him the best player in the world.
