For the gentleman in the video asking about bridging or sweep in the video, it's difficult to do with a low mount where the legs are grapevined, but also to bridge you need some kind of arch with the shoulder. With the smother Paulson is cradling your head at the neck which defeats a lot of bridges, and the grapevines keep your legs controlled. Paulson shows pulling on the shoulders gives breathing room, if knuckles don't work on sensitive ribs then you gotta break the grapes + work form there

Was at a Paulson seminar in Hartlepool many years ago, I remember leaving exhausted - not because of the physical but trying to take in so much in a short time. Great evening.

็็He's a old school jujitsu expert. Not many people know some dirty tricks or small detail in japanese jujitsu and he knows how to use it which is very dangerous.

Korawit S. Yup. Also, a lot of people forget that in the time Paulson started fighting you were allowed to headbutt from the mount and stomp on people's faces.

He's got flags from Sweden and Norway hanging in the gym. And he's from the Midwest somewhere. And he spells Erik with a k. And _son is a common Scandinavian name ending.

Is mother's milk legal in most grappling tournaments? I've been doing this in my gym after I saw it here, and the guys in my gym didn't know about that technique. But they don't take it very well. Thay say it's a dirty move and probably illegal. I kinda like it as a last resort. So is it legal?

+ovo nisamja It's probably not. But it should be. It probably came from the catch wrestling and those boys use some filthy techniques!!

So you think there's more appropriate things to do than this? Kinda makes sense since everyone I tried this with had that question mark above their head.

+ovo nisamja no grappling technics are forbidden. If your trainer or you and your partner say train under lets say ibjjf rules you gotta obey of course. And i think there its illegal. But if nothing is said every grappling move is legal. Everything else is just an excuse. Who said only the technics your opponents like, can perform and can defend are allowed? Thats a dick move. Use whatever you want as long as you havent it outlawed before you grapple. Just be careful with these submissions. Josh robinson has a nice video about the topic

Why would it be illegal? Its a smother... heel hooks are illegal coz they are so dangerous... this is just a wind choke

Smothers are illegal in most grappling events except for some pro level tournaments , but you could just as easily perform the Ezekiel choke from this position which is quite legal and you could probably get away with a little smothering performing the Ezekiel provided you don't make it obvious.

Mother's Milk is 100 times worse because of the naming -- It's as if Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs was asked to name this move -- "ohhh, that there is 'mother's milk'"

I heard Erik Paulson is intentionally overweight because of the heavyweights he trains for MMA. Okay. But come on dude. You're gonna get a heart attack at this weight. Leave the sparring to an employee on your staff. Your a mastermind coach.
