Eric Schweig and the Friends United not-for-profit team describe their artistic journeys/callings

Actor/Inuit carver Eric Schweig and his friend Rolf Bouman describe together with many Indigenous artists what the Friends United circle is all about. They speak from their own experience. Their artworks displayed at the Friends United International Convention Centre in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada are being featured in this video. The Friends United Initiative, which is now a not-for-profit organization was founded by philanthropist Rolf Bouman almost 2 decades ago in order to facilitate the reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island (North American continent). It is the goal of the Friends United Initiative to promote through Indigenous artworks and their important messages not just reconciliation between peoples, but also hope and peace globally, as this is now more important than ever before. For this purpose, people from all across the world are frequently gathering at the Friends United International Convention Centre. Many Indigenous artists live here on site in Cape Breton and are producing together artwork. This also includes mentorship and conveying old teachings in order to preserve important Indigenous messages for future generations.

What al woderfull project! ❤ I whish you all the best for it! Almost 30 years ago I saw only the last part of "the last of mohicans"... The film-death of Eric in combination with the touching music had broken my heart... Since that time I couldn't hear these music without tears in my eys and heartpain. And I couldn't look the film. 🤦♀️🙄 I don't know really why. I'm high sensitiv and feel much more than many people. Since 10 years I'm on the way to my deepest myself and I understand every day more of the connections between people, her souls and the universe. Everyday I feel the pain of many inner children. And sometimes I feel the pain of the world... than it's too much... Maybe I felt 30 years ago for the first time the pain of all Indians in that moment... Or maybe I felt the unconditional love of Eric to the girl and I saw in his eyes, that ALL can be possible, if love exist... And I believe he would die for another person who he loves in reality too... One year ago the filmscene and music was in my head again. These last scene is everytime a sign for me to "let something go"... And crazy: some days before these emotional wave a man come to me in my surgery (I'm a dentist in Germany) and he looked like an Indigenous People... I never see a man like him in Germany before... One more sign for me for a healing chance... So I have had the power to look the whole film at first time with many tears... and I felt, something started to heal... in my heart, in my soul, in my spirit and mybe in the gone history... maybe... Now I write this and only want to say to Eric: Thank you for your part in this film. Thank your for your humility. Thank you for your soul. Thank you for your eyes. Thank you for your spirit. Thank you and all Indigenous People for their heart, mind and consciousness... Thank you for your being here on earth🥰😇... only by this way the universe is perfect😇 Thank you!
