Reid Merrill Check out The Formation Of Damnation. They started changing their sound up pretty majorly album to album, after their fourth, lol.

his riffs are so aggressive but he is very kind person.

Eric Peterson is very very under rated indeed, Eric and Alex are the best.......his playing never gets old well done Eric ...proud of you brotha

For a guy who's mostly a rhythm player, he can definitely hold his own on lead guitar. The sweep licks were especially cool.

Delay or no delay, eric peterson is a great rythm guitarist. Hear the delay in context of a band and it wil sound awesome. Testament is not your walk in the park band, they've stayed since the 80ts.

Eric is a regular guy who's doing a favor for a friend. If he wasn't on camera, he wouldn't be nervous. And he's excited about music and playing guitar. Geez!...with all the negative comments, com'on.

i'd just like to point out eric's fretting hand posture.he holds it STRAIGHT up and down wherever it's at on the neck,unlike so many other players to list who come in at an ANGLE.dave mustaine talks about this in one of his tutorials.getting the direction right alone radically increases overall speed,ay.

I grew up Metallica being my favorite band but Testament holds my vote for the heaviest thrash band and best sound out of all bands. Testament the BIG 1

I like his aggressive style. It's like getting punched in the face by the Hulk or something. There's a definitive energy to his playing.

Eric Peterson, Gary Holt and Dave Mustaine: Whilst you live, there shall be excellent guitar riffs that'll make me bang my head.

He's a very good lead player, which makes me wonder why he only plays rhythm guitar on the Testament albums. His sweep and alternate picking is quite good.

@CharlesRoss2007 Just search "Eric Peterson guitar lesson". Basically the key of this technique is to move your thumb and index finger (while holding the pick) along with the wrist. If you develop this technique properly it nearly doubles the speed of your alternate picking. But it takes awhile to master it.

Although he did have a signature V with washburn, which was only bolt on i believe, and yeah, you never saw him use it LOL or any V.

You might want to check out Jeff Waters from canadian thrash metal band Annihilator. He's definitely in the same echelon with Peterson, Holt and Mustaine as far as rhythm guitar goes.

I do honestly think he can do half of what Skolnick can... but I do believe this guy has amazing rhythm technique and kicks asses playing alternate picking aswell as down.

@JessyDevilVendetta Eric gives Testament its music structure (as far as main riffs and the whole style of the band go). But Alex adds something really interesting (something of a Spanish nature). It works out awesome when combined. But I still love Testament's period without Alex.

What's he using for that tone? 5150III?

i have a guitar sound thats very close to what he is producing and i,am using a bc rich warlock and a behringer vampire so you dont have to spend a whole lot of money to get that awesome thrash tone.

@vivalafonz1 Behringer makes some good amps for the money. My brother has an older one that sounds awesome. (Peavey and older Crates too)

DEAN Guitars are awesome for a cool price.

I would hate me too! I'm pissed at myself though because Eric was having trouble with his effects yesterday. He turns around to the crowd and asked me if I knew anything about effects loops, and I said no, not really. I was intimidated by the thought of fucking up his shit. After thinking about it I thought, what a dumbass, I should have jumped up there. I guess that how it is when your standing in front of one of your all time hero's.
