Eric Nicks & James Cruz on DMX punching Chris Lighty, Tony Yayo pulling a gun & more | Drink Champs
Музыка
On today’s episode, The Champs chop it up with legendary music executives James Cruz and Eric Nicks.
The guys celebrate the life of the legendary Chris Lighty by telling classic stories about their days at Violator and learning the music business. They share great tales about LL Cool J, DMX, Ja Rule, and more, too. Eric talks how he helped LL earn his first No. 1 record, and James reveals how he helped lock in 50 Cent’s iconic business venture with Vitamin Water that shook the game up.
Joined by special guest and television producer Maricarmen Lopez, they debate the perception of the hit television show “Love & Hip-Hop” and much more!
This episode is filled with lots of behind-the-scenes stories of the music industry that you don’t want to miss! #HipHop #LoveandHipHop #Interview

E Nicks is a straight shooter. I remember being uninvited at a dinner meeting in Atlanta that he graciously allowed me to sit in on back in the early 2000s. He dropped knowledge and spoke his mind without filter, and still manages to come off respectfully.✊🏿
One of the reasons I started listening to Drink Champs is cause Noreaga really does show love 💕 and give people their flowers 💐 in a hater free way. The podcast is more about laughing together and getting the stories behind big hip hop moments and it’s cool to see 200+ episodes later they haven’t switched up 👍🏽

Shit don’t work like that if u not as marketable it don’t work. That’s why a lot of people ghostwrite and have other people rap/sing. Yayo don’t have 50 personality. But as far as the yes man part y’all confuse loyalty with being a yes man and flunky. Out of all them niggaz yayo was the only one who called 50 out on his shit and plus we only on the outside lookin in

Manage products instead of people, because products don't talk back. That's gems right there. That's how you end a podcast.

when it comes to shows like Love & Hip Hop, I agree with how it programs reality through the perception of the content that comes out of those storylines and how it's not a completely accurate depiction of the culture
