*I'm telling you, Eric, you need to sing this on America's Got Talent along with all of the mainstream metal/hardcore music that you can enhance into country!*
you dont even know half of this mans talent, if you hear the albums he made in the past with his other main projects you would say he is a god. (although his music nowadays is very good)

Iv always loved this song but honestly never truelly understood what it was singing about till now and this dude really does do this song justice with him dumping his soul into his music just makes it a master peice but with his own spin

WtF is going on at 4:17 there.
Unfortunately, most bible thumpers could not handle even a minute of the NIN song or video, but this cover could get a listen and understanding. For those who cannot get past the spectacle, the song message is that the love of money is the root of all evil. Lust and greed make people do things they really don't want to do, to obtain status that they can hold over other humans. How pathetic is that? That's what the song is about. The truth is that far over paid executives, wall street opportunists and federal goons and politicians are far more evil than anything shown in the NIN videos. In fact, NIN videos show the truth of disgust in the two-faced politicians that they won't let you see. You won't watch the videos because they are obscene looking, but the truth is equal obscenity is happening before your eyes every day in government, they just cover it with pleasant lies. Politicians can hide all evils they do in good intentions, that never come to the light of scrutiny, except when it enriches them personally and of course, their holy grail or being reelected. No one in politics is clean. They should all be removed.
The asbolute laziest and cringiest thing that can be done with a cover is to sing something thats supposed to be a minor chord as a major chord
