Listen people. This guy in the video is a high class animator. Professional as heck. He animated the Genie from Aladdin. That's a character with life and personality if i ever seen one.

I think the internal response of “oh yeah?” When faced with people denying you is where all true greatness comes from. Determination with a pinch of saltiness, maybe a dash of spite, a “watch me” “fuck it” attitude.
I’m 12 and iv been animating since I was 9, my dream is to be a successful animator and work with Pixar :)

i am a 13 year old trying to learn and practicing everything about art and animation before going to college, when i grow up i wanted to make my own company which is quite hard but i still have hopes for it. I wanted to revive 2d animation and share all my thoughts and teachings to the world one day and hearing this inspired me even more. i’m trying traditional animation for now and i hope for anyone else who share the same dream accomplished it too :D

Outstanding advice here he crammed a lot in to 4 minutes. Not just glib- worthwhile points.
Eric Goldberg is my favorite Disney animator He seems so kind and gentle I would be honored and cheerful to meeting him one day The genie was perfect for him to bring to life by animating him
Goldberg embodies the pure fun and joy of animation. His cartooning never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Animators are masters of visual art.
This is some great and much needed advice, honestly. I'm an animator "between gigs" right now, and this cheered me up.

@runbaa9285

@@bubblegumteal3236 If I were to give an advice, I'd say that 2D animation isn't hard, just extremely tedious. Push through a project or you'll get stuck in the middle.
Eric Goldberg has motivated me the best till now and the way he motivated was just awesome and now I can't wait to walk in my path to become a famous animator. Thanks Eric Goldberg 😊
This really made me think about how many times in the past I have wanted to quit art but NEVER did because art is what truly gives me life
Knowledge wisdom and understanding indeed!
this man is just the dictionary definition of "swell". and also my new role model.
Thank you for the advice and encouragement Mr. Goldberg.
What i like about Artists is they are always supportive and inspiring.I've always wanted to become one and now,i'm on my way to be one.(with lots of difficulties,of course) But I know that someday all of this hard work will be paid off.And that we all will be okay.Just follow your dreams. You may feel like losing yourself sometimes but don't u ever doubt yourself for following them.Cause i am pretty sure that they know the way.❤❤❤
"Eric Goldberg" ... the most animator sounding name ever 😉
That is great advice. Eric goldberg, u are a great idol of animators!
The five people who disliked this video are some guys working on the Disney live-action remakes.
Wonderful man! God Bless him!
Still something young and springy in this voice and eyes. I think great animators like Goldberg are still connected to the source of life. By observing it, enjoying it and letting it flow through them. The bringing to life of ideas, characters and movement.
A video has only one dislike? What a rare occasion! May the poor soul's mind be turned.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Eric is the man. I do exactly what he is talking about. For just say... foreshortening, when I go out, I will look at peoples arms and the way they look when facing at different angles and so on. I do this a lot with comic books. I feel like if you had an unbelievable memory, you would be an even better artist.
Hit the nail on the head
I love this man for his skill, I want to learn ever little thing I can I may only be young but I want to put effort on this and I want to make this my skill
Thanks!
Anyone watching this in 2017? I fell amaizing watching this for bilion times.
i love this man

Very nice !
This man is a legend.
Awesome Advice.
Legend in animation
I really like him :)
Thanks eric :D
Such a cuddly little man. And such a big inspiration. I dont peoplewatch because im an introvert and antisocial. So if someone notices im staring at them and they say something to me i lock up. I have been in an art block and nothing can get me out
That's alot of helpful to me.Thank you.Now I'm 13 and I started intrested in animation at 8.Now I practise everything about drawing and animation to become an animator.I wish I would work for disney when I grow up.And I really want to know how can I be an animator for disney.☺

Truly wonderful to hear the God himself. Love you Eric!! :)
Im training to paper animate and export it on my computer
God bless eric goldberg
I always wonder if animators put in Easter eggs like drawing themselves hidden in the background of a scene.
Little did he know that a global pandemic was all it took for people to realize just how true his statement about working on a film from home and it being so easy nowadays.
I feel like I have more talent for the original stuff, ya know? Like it scares me with all the digital stuff, because I'm too poor to own a good computer to get comfortable with, but great with drawing and animating and creating characters... idk I really wanna be an animator for Disney someday
People : you will never go that better. Me : true :( This guy : oh yeah?
How do you make each frame go by so quickly. I ask this because the closet i've ever gotten to animation is a slide show on my phone. And that's to slow. I need to know how to make it quicker.

マシンフィスト you need a new program. Try firealpaca, it’s free. Just go to the “view” thing and click onion skin mode then you can animate and choose the speed
@nikunjmaji3877

Make each key frame move closer to each other and what this comes down to is timing and spacing if the spacing of your drawings are closer this will result in faster animation but make them close but not too close every time otherwise it will be too fast. I'm very bad at explaining alot and I suggest adobe after effects and adobe animate and if you into 3d 3ds maya to get into industry you need skills in all I think not sure tough I suggest getting a well known tutor and going to a well known Design school it's very hard getting into the industry you will need someone to guide you through the path people think this means people are going to do all the work but I know you are really hard working so get the right guidance study smart and you will fly with colours and most importantly don't give up
I would love to intern for animation penguins
He is so cute and looks like Don Carlton from Monster University .
I have to go to Antarctica! I need to find the animation penguins!!
I am kinda worried about the pay thing. You have to work very hard to earn a living. But it'll be more than worth it to do. Thankyoy for teaching me one of my biggest inspirations ✌
its too late for me, i went to school to be a tech and while I do make a nice bit of money I'm not totally happy. is it to late to go for my dream even though i didn't go to school to be an animator? if so anyone have any tips?

Hey I know this is a month out but thought i'd say it here. If your really interested in old school traditional animation. Then look up AMB Animation Academy on youtube. I've been taking lessons from that youtube page that specialize on 2D Traditional Animation. I've learned a lot more from that one page then trying to go to school. P.S. I'm a new Drawing Artist and Animator.

My intent isn't to discourage you, but i gotta tell you don't let the idea of greener grass tempt you. Start it as a hobby? Luckily, you don't need to go to any type of school to learn and you don't need a degree. You can teach yourself! Animation is a very competitive business and most animators freelance, with no job security or benefits. There's no guarantee you'll be happy as an animator, even those who achieve their goal of something like a Pixar job, just settle in and it becomes "eh" to them. Many leave after a few years because of how stressful it is and draining it can be on their creative juices so they leave to pursue other interests. PS: I recommend Bobby Chiu and Schoolism.
HE KNOWS
He looks like Mr. Smee mixed with Doc from Snow White.
I told my Dad I wanted to be an artist. He laughed at me and said, "Draw me a beer."
I wanna do Disney animations but I have to use flipaclip :(

The only reason to give up is you find out animation is not your passion anymore. No other reasons around.
Do not do animation in Japan they pay per drawing and not per hour
