It was an unexpected start, following a just-ended rainstorm and with less than favorable weather conditions. But Eric Clapton, despite his age and some minor health issues, picked up his guitar, as he has done millions of times in his life and gave me and all the beautiful audience there two hours of pure magic... Sir Clapton once again demonstrated his deep love for music and his voice, still full of soul, touched the hearts of everyone present. He is a music icon, an artist who has made history with his talent and passion. We Love you Thank you Eric! Once again.

I do not know Meryl and do not care about Springsteen. You could not be more wrong about Clapton. Crossroads Centre, Crossroads Festivals, a beautiful tour with Steve Windwood, a complete rendition of all of Robert Johnson's works with an accompanying film, some great albums with amazing renditions of I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Don't forget touring the world and performing for millions of people, including my grateful family. Is that OK with you, with you Bill?

In August 1976, Clapton took the stage at the Birmingham Odeon in England, a venue packed with fans eager to bask in the magic of his music. What unfolded that night, however, was a shocking tirade that revealed a much darker side of a man they once dubbed “God”. In a pause during his performance, Clapton launched into a racist diatribe that left the audience and the music world aghast. “Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out,” exclaimed Clapton to his captive audience. “Get the w*gs out. Get the c**ns out. Keep Britain white,” he added.

Why the flag in the guitar? This is music, you can make your politics outside of the stage, Clapton is one of the biggest in modern music, but keep the politics outside of music, art and creation. Support Israel or Palestine is not your obligation if you're not from there, work for Peace and Beaty is your duty like an artist.
