This is beautiful. To all the haters in this comments section, if the tribute were to be just a cover with no changes whatsoever, that would be lame. Clapton made his own interpretation of the tune, and that is the best way to pay respects to a musician. All you haters probably can't even think of an interpretation half as good as Clapton's.

@@Coowallsky Hey man, all I'm doing is providing my take on the situation. You don't have to insult me for sharing my opinion just because you disagree. This is why the internet is in such a horrible state today. When people see that someone likes something they don't like, they get angry and look for ways to make the other person feel bad for no reason. Please don't do that.

Have to agree….Critics relax….The fact that EC acknowledged Jaco in this way is a wonderful gesture…regardless of the “imperfections”. Kudos to Eric for the gesture.

Lighten up jazz critics. It's not the Zawinul Shorter Pastorius triumvirate. They'll never be another. For Clapton to share his love for this most beautiful Zawinul ballad (which Joe wrote with Jaco's achingly lovely tone in mind) is beautiful. While Eric the (rock guitar player) plays some lines over the EbMaj7 - DbMaj7 vamp, I can see him grabbing his Stratocaster the first time he heard this tune, saying 'What a beautiful tune'.
