I have old Fjällräven hunting trousers and I've been looking for replacement. Ventile sounds pretty good as I appreciate natural fibres (100 % wool would also be nice), but I'm just not convinced with the cut.. Looks very modern, with style before practicality. My Fjällrävens looked very ugly but they had a loose cut which was good for mobility. I'm wondering though, how does Sasta Taiga trousers compare with your average G-1000 Fjällräven trousers? When new and fresh out of the shelf, which one is more water repellent? Which one's more durable? The price of Taigas compared to the price of Vidda Pros may still be so much higher that Taigas would have to be much better to justify the price for me.

Taiga trousers are with very good mobility. I have been using those trousers a lot now. Actually, I wear them right now too. I would say that the average FJ G-1000 trousers are stiffer and heavier. With a lot of stretch fabric, like Keb Trousers, you get also nice mobility, but these are about the same if you don't choose too tight size. These pants still keeps water out pretty good, but when sitting for example long time in a canoe and its raining, then the water comes through from the bottom. They keep small rains pretty nicely and it's definitely better with keeping water out, than normal FJ. Taiga Trousers are pretty light and in summer not so warm as FJ AND if you want to feel warm with these in rain, you want long johns under these pants. Cheers, Caj

👎 I have used Taiga as a professional and also in private life. Awsome gear but expensive. I was about to invest in Forest jacket and trousers but the attitude from Taiga people at the event swedish army 500years sucked realy bad. After that experience I will never consider Taiga again. I will also not recommend Taiga to anyone. Good gear but there are other great companies like Carinthia etc.
