So Dr. Wagner, here is a fun fact about Kenshi's first fatality (where he slams Cyber Sub-Zero into the camera). If you're using that fatality on a human Kombatant (barring Kenshi himself, since he's blindfolded), you'll actually see the fatality recipient's eye slide a bit down the screen.

I love how every once in a while he tells us about some real medical fact that turns out to be way more gruesome than what's being done in MK

MK11: okay, we did a lot of blood and body parts. I think this is pretty accurate to the human body! Dr. Wagner: Actually, the chest is supposed to slowly bleed out while you're paralyzed then you throw up all your intestines and die.

Heck, they STUDY real medical or more specifically tragic fatalities in real life to inspire the fatalities in the game... They test out a number of them and see which they deem is best for whichever character that's focused on per se. I'm really excited to see all of the new fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1.

"I wanna see the detail, I wanna see things being ripped off, I wanna see the blood vessels bleeding out" - a doctor. like imagine being on the surgery table and hearing that from the other room

Gotta find humor at some things right? Thank god it’s just a bunch of zeroes and ones. But nah, it’s actually pretty cool to watch someone in this profession watching a video game and still get a kick out of it is what I find pretty cool. Much respect for the doc.

Imagine Dr. Wagner being your hype man in a fighting game, just clapping and cheering when you finally get a fatality or something right and explaining what bones you just broke.

Sadly it won't happen. The devs are trying to make their fatalities as unbelievable as possible, so no dummy would try this at home.

Anatomy wise, they have been trying to improve that, compare the games now to previous titles like Trilogy where a character explodes and has more than one rib-cage. As for believably on how the fatalities are performed, pretty sure Boon himself stated that they're trying to make them creative and ridiculous so that people know that they can't actually be done in real life

The human body can be strange. Sometimes you can suffer a massive amount of damage and still fully recover, and sometimes you slip and fall and die instantly.

They need to get this guy on the fatality research team for the next mk lol

The description says they chose fan favorite fatalities, specifically what fans usually call the greatest fatalities, and I wonder how Smoke's first fatality isn't in here. It's literally amazing. I'm sure we would've gotten a lot of interesting information out of it as well.

Yay fav Doctor with fav Mortal Kombat game

14:26 at the Oktoberfest, a guy bit another guys nose off! Fun fact: this is the only place I've ever heard of where a guy got beaten by a detached arm. This event was a long time ago, when a bomb attack claimed multiple lives and one drunk guy took a souvenir and was stopped by the police at which point he attacked them with said bodypart! Also, in Germany, there was a serial killer in the early 20th century who bit his victims in the windpipe. It got a lot worse than this, if you look this guy up... In any case, human bite wounds are no laughing matter as they tend to get infected even worse than most animal bites.

I love it when the doctors ask for more gore and details.

I've learned more about anatomy from watching a bunch of brutal execution videos explained by an ER Doctor, than I have from both of my Biology Classes. Like, I get it's not the same thing, but that's gotta be at least kind of surprising

i think him reacting to the various executions in the gears of war franchise as a whole would be fun, those are some over-the-top kills

This was the 1st and only MK to be refused classification here in Aus. We didn't have an R18+ rating for videogames back then so MK always got rated MA15+. But maybe a year after the game released we got an R18+ rating for videogames so the game was resubmitted for rating and it passed with an R18+ rating. It's also the only MK where some people couldn't handle some of the fatalities. The wishbone fatality was one of them. So in that regard it doesn't surprise me it got refused classification without an R18+ rating.

Haven't seen Gemma in a long time, kinda miss her.

There was a doctor that used the wire saw to remove someones infected arm in The Walking Dead a few years ago. It was one of the more brutal moments I can recall.

Anything best about MK9 is well, obviously Everything. That game was best part of my life. It takes me few years back. Where I used play this masterpiece at gaming parlour. And my favourite fatalities are usually quan chi, Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung, kenshi and offcourse stage fatalities...

A good thing about him is that he realises it's a game.

Can noise cause your head to explode? sometimes I feel like it does. yep, from the voice alone you can tell the man has been trough some long shifts or trafficjams, or a huge renovation next door. or even worse all of them in that order.

On the subject of sound causing injury, sound is just how our brains process pressure waves in the air as they hit our eardrums. Pressure waves, be it in air or fluid, can damage and kill people. Explosives that don't disperse shrapnel are still deadly because of the massive pressure force exerted within the area, and within solid structures like concrete, reverberating pressure waves can rupture internal organs for a significant distance away from the origin of the detonation. Some have referred to this phenomena of organ rupture from reverberating pressure waves as the "Chunky Salsa" effect. So when you get right down to it, pressure waves are a highly dangerous phenomena whether we can hear them or not, and some of the worst of them are ones we won't hear so much as feel as they rupture our eardrums and internal organs.
