• Steady state flow : 1. At any instant in time, the mass is conserved so that no net accumulation of mass in flow region. Hence, incoming & outgoing mass fluxes are same at each instant in time. 2. There is not net velocity change at any point or any cross section at any instant of time. Velocity may or may not be constant at different parts of flow region but it doesn't change with time. So, the effects of net external forces are such that flow just flows continuously so that no momentum is stored in flow region at any instant of time. 3. Energy is also getting conserved at any instant of time. If the whole flow takes place at constant temperature throughout the instants of time, then then only flow work is playing as a role of energy for fluid. 4. At inlet & outlet of the flow region, the pressures are constants throughout the instants of time. Pressure drop is occured because of frictional losses which are themselves independent of time.
