Sorry I missed this comment when you posted it! The assumption that x was between 2 and 4 was made because x was approaching 3. But ultimately we don't need to assume that x is between 2 and 4 - in the video after around the 3:00 mark I explain how to take care of x values that might be outside of those bounds. The expression we come up with for delta at the end (which involves taking a minimum of two numbers) works for all epsilon values.
