Epoxy Floor Update & MAJOR Water Leak Crisis
In this episode, we give y’all a full look at how the Rust-oleum Epoxyshield held up the first week. On top of the house build, we discovered a major leak in our water system. Luckily, with the help of a hootis we can fix anything!

Precious lessons learned from y’all: 1. Being kind and nice toward each other shows how you treasure that person in your life. 2. Being agreeable and doing everything together w/o complaints strengthens the bond and make you thirst further for having that person in your life. 3. Take delight in being like that always, not only to the camera. (I’ve watched about 90 of your videos in less than a week.) Do I love y’all ? I know I love Ladly ❤❤❤ 😂 j/k ❤️❤️❤️
I completely understand, today I noticed a water faucet in my backyard that was leaking, and what I thought was it needed a new washer... uh wrong answer ! I had to buy a brand new pipe and faucet that connected to a pipe inside the wall of the house. My house was built in 1958 so, it was probably the original pipe and faucet ! Thank God my son-in-law was able to fix it.

Jim a tip for your pump add a fuel shutoff valve between the carb and fuel tank so when you use it and you are done shut the valve off and let it run out of fuel this will prevent your carb from getting green ( clogged up from dry fuel ) ….. Also Jim you had they perfect opportunity to give Lydia a mud spa treatment for your Anniversary … HaHaa. Happy anniversary. 🇺🇸 SEMPER FI Brother 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼

Yes sir Mr. Freddie! You are right…. People pay good money to lay around in the mud and she was able to do it for free! I’m such a romantic 🤣😂 Thank you sir!
I see you priming the pipe now. No primer before makes for a weak joint. Life lessons. Love the Vlog.

Clear pvc cleaner before.
Take a grinder and sharpen your shovels makes them work so much BETTER. For years I couldn’t figure out why my husband had an easier time digging and then he sharpened mine. No wonder he never complained total game changer.
Jim... you are definitely not the only one who starts a project, then needs a tool to use for that project, only to add more work fixing that tool... on and on and on. On the plus side, you made me feel good that I'm not the only one who has this issue LOL I feel for both of you because the water issue/project did not look fun at all. At the end of the day, who cares. You guys got the job done and you spent all that time together, which is more important than anything. Oh, also. Jim, when you ran to get the items to fix the job and it seemed to take forever... story of my life! Happy Anniversary to you guys... and keep doing what you're doing.

Thank you Timothy! It is nice to know we aren’t the only ones😂
when inserting a piece of pipe between two connectors glue all connecting surfaces and then when you install you can twist the insert in to both connectors and avoid leaks
Great Video 👍👍👍👍👍 I used to fix the water leaks as part of what I did for a construction company. It’s never a waste of time they get the pump running. It saves you time in the long run. Even if you have to go to a Walmart and buy a 12 V boat bilge pump and hook it to the battery. It will move more water than you can also never backfill muck around a pipe always use some gravel from somewhere you want the gravel under the pipe, not as much as over it to keep the dirt from pushing down on the pipe and snapping it

On the other hand, that mud looks perfect for a mud mask! Great for the skin and complexion. 😀👌
The best time to work on pumps, tools and other equipment is after you use it. Clean it and put it away properly, so it will be ready for future use.

Very true
If the needle valve stuck closed then the jet is probably clogged. After you clean the jet put 2oz of sea foam in the tank every fill up for a while to dissolve all the varnish in the Carb. After that if you use ethanol fuel, use stabil in the tank to keep the carb from varnishing up again or use non ethanol fuel. Thanks for the videos.

Wow water table that high,🤔 you have a back home. Did trenches leading to a big pond in your yard. In trenches put french drain to collect water and dump into pond. When established stock with Crawfish and cat fish,😁now you have your own fish markets🥰
18:30 FINALLY! I'm sure we all get that euphoric sense of relief when we glue that last piece of pipe in! I've had moments like this, or trying to patch some copper pipe where I could not get the water to stop flowing! Desperately shoved a slice of bread into it to stop the water long enough for me to sweat the connection ....good times. 🙂I love watching you two work; subscribed!
I hear shoveling is good for your back. :} Jimbo, you are kind of like the cat, does not want to get your paws wet. 🐾 At least until you had to. Sorry you had to resort to plan B(ucket). Let's hoping for a good (enough) seal. Very nice time-lapse shots of sunset and sunrise. And I always enjoy the return of the animations. Happy belated anniversary you two. Cheers. 🥂

Oh my gosh! So sorry to hear!
I bought a electric submersible pump about 10 yrs ago and glad I did as I've had to replace 2 hydrants. I keep it in a 5 gal bucket with holes in the side about a inch above the bottom of the bucket then wrapped 1/4" mesh around the bottom half of the bucket to keep trash out of the pump. Small trash pump would've been better but you know $$$$. Used it a few times. And I have some 4×4 that I've screwd together to drive my John Deere 1025r with a backhoe on it and loader, best and handiest tool I have. And I get to help my neighbors too with alot of their problems, it's fun!
@CajunCountryLivin

I really like the electric pump and bucket idea!
Best way to solve the water freezing problem is to install a frost free hydrant and never have to deal with it again and adding a inline coupler will help to get the joints to full depth. All you do is install all the fittings to full depth the connect the coupler together and done.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I have used the "Hootis 2000" water pump several times in my life. It's one of the reasons my 69 year old back is no good now.😁If I lived closer I would have brought my Harbor Freight towable excavator over. It's perfect for this kind of job. Not heavy enough to tear up the yard and would dig a nice hole for that water to drain into. Oh well, to late now. My Grandpa always said, "What ever you do at the end of a year, is what you will do the most in the next year. So, with that in mind, while ya'll dig in the mud, I'm going to sit in my chair and drink a cold beer.😅Oh, and the floor looks great!!

To remove the little pockets of entrapped air in the epoxy garage floor just use a heat gun and blow over the bubbles, the warm air reduces the surface tension and some people put down some sand to texture bubble and pops, leaving a nice shine with no poc marks.
You guys are great together.

Jim I feel your pain, been there done that but I didn't have the hootis 500 pump I have to remember that. And before I forget, Happy Anniversary
Just a hint but glue that 45 degree fitting last next time it will be easier to assemble !!!!
I have seen a spray on sealer that dries fast and once dry it doesn't change the color of the concrete. It was on another channel.
That's the color of our concrete countertops. We sealed it with Tung oil, and it has a bit more color variations. We love how it turned out.
Jim your not the only one that works on things when you need them. That just means you don't have to keep up with Jones or have other/better things to do
I can't help but laugh... Here on our farm every single time I grab something I feel like I gotta tinker with it a bit before I can use.

Wow, What a nightmare! You both had an amazing upbeat attitude through it all. Your floors look so nice.
Happy belated anniversary. That was loads of work, but necessary. Hope the rest of your day was blissful
Things to keep in mind about coatings and how they cure. Some kinds depend on a solvent to evaporate, some depend on a chemical change like oxidation with exposure to the oxygen in the air, and some rely on cross linking of the molecules within a two part system like your epoxy. Most of the time, curing times are reduced by time at higher temperature. By comparison, the curing of concrete is a hydration process facilitated by exposure to water and on the other extreme, super glue cures due to exposure to the nitrogen in the air. Lastly, as for your water problem, I always keep a shop vac that is intended for water only. It gets used more than the ones for dirt lol!
Happy Anniversary, well that was a pain in the rear. I bought a pump that runs on D cell battery from Harbor Freight it was under $15 dollars, and it works awesome.
