Episode Recap & Thoughts | Loud House Episode 10B: Sleuth Or Consequences

This video for the "Episode Recap & Thoughts" category is dedicated to the B segment of the 10th episode of The Loud House, which "formally" aired on Nickelodeon on May 17, 2016 (although it was uploaded on Nickelodeon's official website on April 15, 2016 as a "sneak peak" along with its "sibling segment").
"Sleuth Or Consequences" is about Lincoln planning to go to a convention dedicated to his favorite super hero, Ace Savvy. However, someone has clogged the toilet and most of the family blames Lincoln due to past incidents. Mr. Loud grounds all 11 Loud Siblings until the culprit is revealed and Lincoln is determined to solve this mystery as Ace Savvy would with Lucy helping him.

Aren't Luna and Leni out of character as where else in previous episodes or in character bios did it say the Lack Empathy especially toward their brother as all they do is make fun of Lincoln's costume , just blame him for a clogged toilet which is a minor crime and relish in making him a laughing stock , that's not " Typical Sibling Teasing" But uncharacteristic BULLYING as with Sarah and Mandy them lacking much empathy makes a lot more sense and is IN character for them . And can get a little funny as with Sarah in the cardboard box city episode when Johnny steals Eddy's money and he says " Did you see that ? That bald kid took my money!" and Sarah responds with " Tell someone who cares ." and With Mandy in the halloween short when Billy thought a kid was Grim , Mandy claimed because he's Grim and has no stomach she claims his candy ( Even though Grim can eat just fine ) this cause's Greg to cry and when Billy says she made "Grim" cry Mandy just causally eats a candy piece and says " I'll let you know when I start to care." But those two lacking empathy makes a lot more sense and more in character then Luna and Leni here .

Whether or not it would be "out of character" for Leni & Luna to act that way has been a rather intense debate among some viewers, particularly from those who resent the "nice sisters, mean sisters" concept and those who think others are taking the concept too literally (thinking certain viewers are saying "certain sisters are only ever nice or mean" rather than "certain sisters have a track record of having more kinder moments or more antagonistic moments"). I recall seeing some comments on the wiki of some wishing there were more moments of Leni & Luna having a mean streak.

I have always hated this episode, even more than Head Poet's Anxiety. Just like that episode, Lincoln has a not-so happy ending.

I can understand why this segment would be someone's least favorite segment; I have seen a fair amount of fan works dedicated to this segment even if it isn't as many as the fan works of segments that seem to have more notorious reputations.

An animated atrocity of Lilo and Stitch : The series said it best on Heckler " It doesn't matter how Thick Skinned you are someone WILL find a way under it even without insulting nicknames , and that sticks and stones may break my bone but names can never hurt me thing doesn't work

It is true that even a thick skinned person will have their limits, just like how even a patient person has their limits. Speaking for myself, the teasing in this segment didn't feel like "crossing the line" to me, although I have seen some fan works that went even further with the teasing to the point where it would bother even a thick skinned person.

I'm sick and tired of people always talking about Lincoln' great thick-skin when many episodes before and after show he doesn't have squat Get the message, Sound of silence , Making the Grade etc and if you ask me Bo sheep from the US Acres segments of Garfield and Friends as true thick skin as he was able to do to Orson's brothers what Lincoln Can't do towards his sisters be : calm, laugh off their tactics and simply making them go way and leaving you alone because they weren't getting anywhere with him . I mean i don't see Bo getting as much praise .

I think this is an example of some fans going one extreme while some fans go the opposite extreme. Lincoln having thick skin is something that has been shown in various entries in the sense that Lincoln is shown to react to a fair amount of his sisters' antics with mild annoyance or just ignoring it. It is also worth mentioning that Lincoln is shown to have thicker skin compared to some of his sisters (Luan & Lucy are the most notable examples). At the same time, some fans go the opposite extreme in the sense that they ignore the fact that even a thick skinned person does have their limits. Lincoln isn't a fragile flower by any means but he still has his limits just like anyone else. I think part of the reason for why this situation occurs is because of the debate over where one draws the line between too sensitive and too insensitive.

Maybe this episode instead of being a mystery should have been a courthouse like Krabs vs Plankton or Keeper of the Reaper

My guess for why they went with the mystery approach was so that the viewers could learn more about Ace Savvy.

if you ask me the sisters are BIGGER Karma Houndians then Vegeta as at least when he acts too arrogant and douchbaggy he get's his payback like with him helping Cell to be perfect for a challenge he got his butt kicked . Can you say the same for the sisters getting beaten up ?

I get the feeling that the Loud Sisters wouldn't have the notorious reputation that they have with some fans if the show was more willing to call them out for their worst moments. Season 3, at least, toned things down in comparison to the first two seasons.

What are your thoughts on the whole “mean sisters, nice sisters” thing? Also, do you think it’s out of character for Luna and Leni to act mean and aggressive?

The "Nice Sisters, Mean Sisters" Concept has, certainly, caused a notable debate among the fandom. Speaking for myself, I do believe that the concept does have elements of truth to it in the sense that it is fair to point out that some of the sisters do have a track record of more kinder moments compared to some of the sisters and some of the sisters do have a track record of more antagonistic moments compared to some of the sisters (such as Leni having a track record of kinder moments compared to some of the sisters and Lynn having a track record of more antagonistic moments compared to some of the sisters). I think the problem is more so that some fans take the concept to such an extreme level that they are unwilling to acknowledge that all the Loud Sisters are capable of having their kinder moments and their antagonistic moments even if certain sisters have a track record that leans more towards one over the other (such as Leni still having some "beware the nice ones" moments and Lynn still having moments where she honestly has her heart in the right place).
