Nice Stutzen, I’ve had one from new in the early 1990’s and it’s in .25 which I understand is quite rare. Beautiful looking air gun.

@@hotair4269 I’ve just started bell target and am going to be looking for a working early 1900’s BSA soon as I want to give it a go as I understand that’s what a lot of them were used for. Ive seen those rifles on Fieldsports Cymry, they are in stunning condition.

My first rifle was a Meteor S then I moved onto a Mercury Challenger rifle which incidently I still own, so this video was a must-watch for me. If I recall correctly, the BSA Buccaneer was basically a BSA Scorpion pistol in a rifle stock. Also, great channel!

That’s great to hear, do you still shoot the Mercury Challenger? Yes I believe you are correct, the buccaneer had an add on to the end of the barrel to make it longer and also to aid cocking as it was a shorter length barrel. Merry Christmas from me and Gareth :)

@@hotair4269 I don't shoot it currently, but that is not the gun's fault, more where I live nowadays. Hoping to persuade mother-in-law to let me use her big 'ol garden to get some shots in with it or the HW. She dislikes guns though, so yeah, not holding out much hope. I really got put off BSA because I bought a Firebird and the first one was 16fb and it was a pain to get it changed the next one worked well for a year then leaks and BSA refused to service it and washed there hands of them and suggested that I contacted the designer to see if he would help .! So not going to chance my money again

Hi hope you guys are doing well and have a great Christmas. It's a long story and I need your advice. I have the first BSA Meteor made. Numb m1010. Iv got the hole background story to this gun as I bought it from the son of the BSA marketing manager back in the 50s . The gun did the rounds with him then getting sales for bsa and later he fitted the mk2 stock on it. Iv the original bss scope as well. After it did the rounds he gave it to his sons to shoot with and they kept it all these years till it came into my hand. The rifle is in lovely shooting condition still and is in great condition. Would you keep it or sell it to a BSA collector as I'm not one myself. I just don't know what to do with it as I feel it needs a good home. Thanks for any advice. Love the shows

Hello there, wow great bit of history there mate. A collector would probably snap your arm off if you offered it for sale. I know a few collectors of BSA’s so if you want to sell it I can help with that. But I don’t think anyone would blame you for keeping it. What do you collect? Merry Christmas from me and Gareth

Hi guys, You said that the BSA meteor was the first rifle that they built to take a telescopic site, the MK2 Airsporter that you had on the table could also take a scope, Keep up the good work

  • @hotair4269

Hello mate :) the Mk2 airsporter could indeed also take a tele scope, due to the addition of the dovetail rails. However the Meteor mk1 was introduced in 1959 & the mk2 airsporter was not introduced until 1962, therefore the Meteor led the way :) Merry Christmas from me & Gareth

How about a video on the Sussex Armoury leading through to the Air Arms early rifles? I have the old Sussex Armoury Woodsman side lever which would lead nicely to talking about and showing the Air Arms Khamsin and Camargue. Another would be leading upto ie the Falcon air rifles, the Titan and earlier through to the Falcon dream gun the T-Bird. Who like Sussex Armoury are ownwed/taken over by Air Arms.
