Episode 7: Yas' Version of Events in Corsica - Emily Blackwell's Mother Half

Комедия

In her first broadcast interview since the dramatic Made in Chelsea summer trip, Yas Zweegers tells Emily and Rachel why she behaved as she did in Corsica. She admits she could have handled the situation better and reveals it was an upsetting event at home that sent her off the rails. She also tells us how she's handling the online abuse, that there's no girl code on MIC and how, despite the hate, her followers are still going up. Yas also helps out in 'dilemmas' but admits she's probably not best placed for all of the listeners' questions!

    It’s giving no accountability and victim mentality vibes. Own it and move forward. Said with love not hate. I realise no one is perfect. But accountability is such a good trait to practice.

    I’ve finally watched the whole episode and Yasmine is the queen of deflection…”I wasn’t that close to Inga, I’m only 24 (😂- you’re in your mid 20s), my Nan died, we were stuck in Corsica with nothing to do, I didn’t “sleep” with Sam (no you just lay in bed with him) etc. Not once did she take accountability for hurting Inga. An unbiased podcaster would have definitely brought up the fact she literally told Inga that she would never go there and she wasn’t interested. That she was on her side.

    @deeshan9844

    She also said "me and Inga weren't really speaking at the time"...well maybe that's because Inga broke up with Sam and the next day you were cuddling with him on the sofa? It's awful how she always turns it against the other person (Inga, Issy) to make herself out to be the victim. Zero accountability and even more worrying - zero remorse. She's very selfish and won't hesitate to dump Emily too when she's climbed the next step on the ladder.

    It's disgusting to hear Emily and her mom make insinuations about Inga sleeping with two guys when they don't even know. How old is the mum? Like 50+? And she's sat there slagging off a girl half her age who she's never met? And coddling Yas who is obviously *never wrong*. Yas is revealing herself to be extremely arrogant and a liar. I actually think her and Sam Prince make a perfect match 🗑

    This behavior by Emily and her mother is exactly why people like Yasmine will never learn. Instead of challenging her and holding her accountable for her actions, I only hear justifications, coddling and speaking poorly of the people who she harmed and actually held her accountable. This is actually ultimately doing a disservice to Yasmine as she will never learn and change. And eventually keeping this behavior up ends up alone. Also confused by the attempt to make it a gender issue and portray this infantilized view about younger women. So generally people are considered adults at 18 but Yasmine can't take accountability for her actions (such terrible REPEATED ones) at 24? How is it not offensive to treat a grown-up as a child? How is it not sexist? What will it achieve except a GIANT eye roll by any woman who has been 24, 21, 16 etc., and would have never dreamed of behaving like this? On a positive note, this podcast made me of course love Inga more but Izzy

    I have to say it’s really bizarre the way friendships are treated amongst the MIC group - if this had happened to a normal friend group there is no doubt that Yas in this situation would need to take some much needed time away from everyone to think about what she’s done. I know people say ‘where’s the blame for Sam’, but as the now ex boyfriend it’s pretty obvious he will be automatically shunned by the group, he took ownership of what he did wrong from what I saw. I can’t say I saw the same from Yas. There’s not enough of ‘if the shoe was on the other foot’ thinking amongst this group, and it baffles me. Treat others how you’d want to be treated, no? Regardless of how much of a ‘friend’ they are to each other, is a kiss and sex really that important to risk greatly upsetting someone else? Not to me, maybe I’m different but my morals just wouldn’t allow me to do that to someone.

    Hmmm I'm not sure Yas has learnt anything from Corsica and if Emily had been sat at that dinner table would she have been so supportive?? 🤷‍♀️ We all make mistakes and the judgment around that table was astounding. Inga, understandably, was upset. Liv, understandably, was upset. But the rest of them?? Miles and Ruby seem to have forgotten their chequered past! And I think Sam is trying to be the new Jamie Laing of Chelsea. Jamie has said on his own podcast that he pretty much was acting up/playing the bad boy role on MIC. Also lets not forget these people are adults now. Rez is 35 I think!!! Wish Emily was in it more. Love the pod ladies 😊

    Yas seems just as bad on here as she does on the show; despite her being like ‘none of you know me or what went down’ but she’s exactly the same irl if not worse for justifying her actions/ excusing them. Her trying to say she was never good mates with inga in the first place and that she’s young and needs to make mistakes etc just makes her previous apologies seem so fake. I think everyone whose saying she isn’t a girls girl is spot on, just comes across as pick me in general who thrives off male attention. Emily was also SO wrong here for letting her personal opinion about Inga dictate her morals/ allowing her to be biased towards Yas. We’ve seen her on numerous occasions on mic calling out other girls for their wrong doings and we’ve seen her call Miles out for being a fuck boy and upsetting multiple women. The fact is had she been there (as someone who is good mates with Liv) she would have been on Yas’ case too.

    As much as I understand that Yas had sh*t going on and I appreciate that they weren't best friends but it doesn't make things right and it's not an excuse that Inga has done things in the past. I think if Yas hadn't said previously that she would never go there or do that to her, to go and do it was what was wrong in the situation and I hope it was a learning experience 😊 don't hold yourself to other people's standards, conduct yourself in a way that's true to you always! That being said, everyone makes mistakes and it's awful to see the cruel comments from everyone. Sam was the one in the relationship and he is the one who needs to take the brunt of the responsibility

    Yas is just making excuses for her bad behaviour!! At the end of the day she was still Ingas friend and Yas always plays the victim she didn’t in Bali where her and Miles lied about being caught kissing then she wound Miles up to yell at and call Issy names and not once have they apologised to Issy publicly they made her out to be a liar publicly so they both need to apologise publicly, Yas and Issy made up but Yas only said she lied about it there was no apology for it or for standing there while Miles yelled at Issy knowing they are both liars and the way Miles speaks to women is disgusting and someone needs to put him in his place when he does it. Yas has been caught lying a few times and her true colours have come out. Ruby has no idea why she’s fighting with people she’s just fighting with them and most of the time it’s actually none of her business but it’s the only way for her to stay relevant she’s follows Miles around like a love stuck puppy so she just boring. Miles has a lot to say about Sam hurting women cause that’s just what he does and that the pot calling the kettle black! Miles is he wants and is ready for a girlfriend then he’s not ready for a girlfriend right now, I get whiplash from him and his he wants a girlfriend then he doesn’t want a girlfriend, then let’s not forget Jane is the most recent o girl he’s hurt,the whole time he’s been on MIC he’s never had a girlfriend he’s just used them until he sick of them!!! Miles has opinions Sam, Harvey, Charlie but he needs to look in the mirror cause he does the exact same thing. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!!!!!

    Used to like Yas until she did the dirty on Harvey with Miles, then slept with Sam when Tristan showed her he was into her. Emily is now condoning her actions when she demonstrated little tolerance of this behaviour when the same thing happened to her. Totally agree about accountability, deflection, taking no responsibility for her actions and choices, only excuses.

    Personally I’m getting increasingly annoyed at how You speak to your Mum Emily! Honestly I get that you’ve done all the MIC stuff and naturally that turns you into a bit of a narcissistic ‘look at me I’m so wonderful’ complex. But I don’t think you talking down to your own mother puts you in the best light. I think your Mum is funny, insightful and I love her honesty and infectious approach to trying something new and alien to her! Just remember without her you could be sweeping up hair off some hair dressers floor or working in some department stores’ perfume department! I would rather watch a podcast with just your mum to be honest!

    Absolute disgrace both Emily and her mother. No respect any more and lost yet another listener. How did you feel Emily when it happened to you? How would you feel if that person was Yas? You know pick me girls like Yasmine would happily do the same to you. They love to try and get validation, especially if they think they can ‘take them’. Mrs Blackwell - who on earth do you think as a much older woman to attack a much younger female who was nothing but a victim. To question her sexual history??? It’s obvious why your daughter dislikes Inga due to Harvey (even though they weren’t together and Inga wasn’t her bloody friend!!!), but your excuse? All of you are morally bankrupt.
