Self it means if you have a gobela u have someone who is guiding u physically when you are self u will have umkhombihlela not gobela when you're a self ur spirit guides show you how what and when you should do yes u will need assistance from someone but not to go and stay at someone's place for months years

What you have discussed here, especially pertaining to self-initiates has to be the most important thing in Spirituality. I believe the understanding of the term 'self initiate' is the issue here. To my understanding, the term self initiate, in terms of its meaning and definition, it seeks to exclude a physical person as a teacher or gobela, but doesn't exclude any Spirit as a teacher or gobela.

From watching this episode I can conclude that the term 'self initiate' is a wrong term to be used for people who are initiated by their ancestors or spirits governing them. 2 things stands: there are people who are initiated under a Gobela and there are people who are initiated by their ancestors or spirits governing them, and not trained under a Gobela. So the term 'self-initiation' sounds like a person trainined themselves...like initiated themselves alone without any assistance or guidance, hence there is a lot of confusion and disagreement regarding this term 'self-initiation'.

Watching this, they all agree with uSizwe about self initiates. Sizwe uthe before the first sangoma there was a spirit (indlondlo as per uDabul'valo) that thought umuntu wokuqala ubungoma. There was no Mkhulu or Gogo. And uDabul'valo uyasho ukuth indlondlo are greater than uGogo nomkhulu. But i stand to be corrected.

Loved the segment, was the first time tuning in and it was due to Makhosi Smart. Well done on your content and research behind your show and guests. Since we are here and I heard the world, uNomkhubulwane, Nomhoyi being thrown around by your beautiful panel, can we have a segment dedicated to the Afrikan Calendar. Talk about Ntu and what it means to be Ntu during this time and season. And maybe put out a challenge khehla that every 23rd of every new month you consciously teach on these new seasons. Tomorrow we enter the 10th month of our true calendar, which is the month of Set aka uMbhidlizi and observe this season in its "destructive" beauty. Yesterday we were celebrating the Winter solstice here in the Southern Hemisphere the rebirth of the sun what Christians would call Christmas (the sun was literally turning back from the north coming back to the south). There are a lot of teachers on the teachings and ways of our ancient Kermit life that are ready to share and teach. Thank you for your beautiful work.

Abangafundanga soze baphinde beve, kona kona it is very understandable why people would think you can self initiate ngoba as oogobela siyabamosha abantwana babantu. Kodwa nje ngane zakwethu we need community, ritual and ceremony to be a healer for our own safety. We need to really look into this ngoba we are losing so many of the young generations because of self initiation, we need to not judge or codemn them but guide them nabo be willing to be guided.
