Hello lovely ladies, lots of gorgeous projects and yarns 💖. Sophie you need to get some you time, do you read or sit and listen to an audio book whilst enjoying sitting in the garden. Going for walks are good as well. Enjoy Toronto and make sure you have a little down time whilst you are away xx

Hi Sophie and Judy! It's always lovely to sit in on one of your videos. I have enjoyed your genuine antics since episode 1 - feels like I'm hanging out with fiber-y friends. :) Sophie, I hope you're feeling more the thing soon. Burnout is real, girlfriend - take good care of you! And you, too, Judy. Get well! I hope you both know how much we all appreciate your content and your knitting and dying talent. You are both so inspirational - and I love all the pink (although, like Judy, I'm more a blue girl - cow says "yes!" - love those cows, too). I feel like we all struggle a bit post-COVID - the world has legitimately changed - but in some ways for the better. We just have to learn to release our old expectations and behaviors. It's okay. Knitting is the one thing that keeps me sane in a world of 24/7 work, husbands, kids, grandchildren and CATS! It's my place, and I enjoy every blipping moment of it. I look forward to seeing you in Seattle in August, Sophie! Until then, enjoy Moronto!

I understand you sophie. I did a burnout 3 years ago and now I feel more vulnerable than before. When I feel the tiredness of a burn out, I know that I have to take care of me because I don't want to go that road again. Now I own a small business and I'm doing what I love the most, but that job can easily be 8 days a week. I now force myself to take my thursday out of the job and my week-ends afternoon. These are a no-work moment dedicated to my husband and myself. I also work on how I talk to myself: I always feel like I never do enough for my business. During my no-job moments, these feelings are not allowed: I did enough for now, I will do more tomorrow. You can't rest if you feel guilty of doing it. take care of you!

Burnout is so horrible, sorry you’re going through it Sophie. The only thing I could do that really helped was to reduce the amount of decisions I was making. So I planned my meals, my clothes, anything small that meant I could just get up, start the day without thinking about it and save my brain for trying to rest or for work. I also decluttered my house - very therapeutic getting rid of everything lol!

Hiya, great video, thank you. It’s so important to talk about how you feel especially when we’re struggling. I’m a nurse so have felt at burnout several times. Craft really helps as it’s so therapeutic but also yoga really helps, taught me to switch off, breathe and gives a sense of well-being. My class has all body types (I’m a larger lady) and it doesn’t matter. Also agree with Fiona, going outside for a walk is important. Sorry for the long ramble, really appreciate what you both do 💕

Maybe you could both get into the habit of a little walk outside together at lunchtime? I was always working through my lunchtime and not leaving my desk until one of my colleagues took me in hand and made me get out

Ace podcast! I kind of accept that burnout happens from time to time. It’s just a sign that you need to look after yourself. It’s okay to lock yourself and the world away for a couple of days. I also find getting outside in the fresh air away from screens is helpful. I’ve also learned to limit my work hours. I don’t think you get more done by working more, you just need to use your time wisely whilst at work. Always take a break during the day and make realistic lists. Then there’s exercise and diet….. the harder things to get right 😂 Be kind to yourself. ❤

Sophie, I've just had 4 weeks off because of burnout. Now facing a management investigation and possible disciplinary because I made some mistakes whilst under alot of stress and pressure. Exercise and doing something new has helped me along with knitting with your beautiful yarns 😊, i love my bright pink lady voilet and my simon. Look after yourself, take a break, perhaps do something new and focus on the good things in your life. You and fiona clearly have a great relationship and it's really important to have friends you can turn to 😊.

Hey Sophie, my heart goes out to you. I was struggling with work a few weeks ago and I got into the practice of using my commute to turn off, put on a audiobook or sing as loud as I can break up the day. I did use exercise too and walking to clear my mind. But I reminded myself there is so much of my life that I enjoy and that not all my fulfilment comes from work and I love journaling too. I hope you feel better soon and the time away helps you take a break. ❤️❤️❤️ Just know that what you do helps some many others too. ❤️❤️

Love the heirloom cardigan, such a beautiful pattern and in your colours it would be amazing. Great to see the socks, looking lovely blocked. I have a notions idea- teeny small 2mm/2.25mm needle stoppers for sock knitting needles. Maybe a niche request but how cute would they be?!

I find reading is a big game changer for escaping your brain. I have ADHD so I have a very loud brain that does not ever shut up. So I read a lot and go to someone else’s world. If I have complicated Knitting, I will listen to an audiobook at the same time, if it is easy I will read on my Kindle. If I just knit normal stocking stitch without a second something stimulating my brain its too loud and my Knitting goes really slow as I feel like I could feel every stitch. If that makes sense at all.

Lovely podcast. Im in awe of your knitting and crochet! I must check out your Ravelry pages as i have too many single skeins i need to use up so i can buy a sweater quantity of your stunning yarn. Arh Sophie i feel for you, both of you. You work so hard. Its good you've recognised that you're feeling like you explained, and spoke about it too. Admitting to yourself is the first way to look for help. I took time off for a similar thing and i found walking helped me, as Fiona said, being outside. Knitting helps me now 😅. Talking to friends and writing things down. But you'll love your trip and relaxing on the journey. Take care ladies and many thanks for all your hard work. ❤

Fiona that bright pink really suits you ... Sophie when you started talking about serious things I thought you were going to say you were pregnant lol ... I think you need to do a Richard Geere in Pretty Woman ... When you have your lunchbreak - yes, you must take a lunchbreak ... Take off your shoes & socks & walk in the grass ... Just watch out for bumblebees lol

My crochet swatches are just something I made up! 😂 I’m not an experienced crocheter at all. I start with what I think you would call a classic granny square then on an old number round I add a shell stitch border. I hope that explains 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😊
