This video and the entire series is absolutely stunning! A work of art of photography and cinematography that whets the appetite for adventure. This series is a true testament to a lifetime of passion for boating, honing one's craft, and sharing those learnings with the broader boating community. I highly recommend the series to anyone looking to learn more about long-range cruising and to be inspired by the beauty of the world around us.

Hey Pete. Thanks for the words of encouragement. ALWAYS greatly appreciated. Next episode was supposed to be an easy one for me....Difining the Attributes of a Well Found Expedition Boat. It's turning out to be (like most things) more work than anticipated, but I hope to have it completed in the next few months. Stay tuned. All the best.............Cliff

It's comments like these that provides the (much needed) fuel to keep me going with the series. @@AnAchievableDream We are loving Baja, again. Funnily enough I started doing a travel Vlog, the folks from work asked me to give it a go when I retired in April. My channel is Going Walkabout, I just did a episode on Mexico City. Mind you, my stuff is no where near as professional as what you are doing. If you are doing the photography, hats off, it’s really good. Kiwi and I are going on 38 years of marriage, we decided to sell everything and just travel, with no set agenda, thus, the going Walkabout. It was so good seeing you and knowing you are doing well, makes my heart happy to see you are still boating. It must be good for your health as well, either that or you are Dorian Grey, I could swear you haven’t aged a minute let alone 30 years. Be well, safe travels, Sue

@@AnAchievableDream I might glaze over the mechanical stuff (!!) but I look forward to the livability info. Everything from why you chose Nordhavn, and why the boat size you did, to provisioning, to the daily upkeep. For instance, are there exhaust fans to remove moisture from showers? Do you flush your black water tank the way we RVers do after dumping?

  • @AnAchievableDream

@@sarahshong5855 Hi Sarah. We do have exhaust fans in each shower for exactly the reason you mentioned (good eye for detail). Essentially we treat our grey and black water the same as an RV, except when we are out at sea. BTW, OASIS is not a Nordhavn....but they look somewhat similar. The episode after next is on tips, tricks and lessons learnt, so you may find it of interest. Thanks for writing. Enjoy your summer............Cliff

Good afternoon Cliff. Your latest video was exceptional in it’s drone flying and showing the beauty of Alaska. I have watched Tony Fleming‘s videos , yours are an equal in quality and information. I Love your golden. It reminds me of our golden name Bow who died a year or so ago. We have now a European golden name Monti Montana. I see that you are still at Roche, via Roche’s cam and look forward to meeting you this spring when we arrive late April. I am sure the dogs would love to play together. What are your cruising plans for the summer of 2022. We plan to break our boat in by cruising the local San Juan Islands in May and in August we hope to cruise up to the Brighton islands by Port Hardy , Vancouver island. Regards Pat on the MV Perseverance.

Hi Pat. I'd totally love to arrange a play-date for Sarina & Monti. Our plan is to depart Roche in the first week of April for BC and we should be hanging out this summer up around the Broughton Islands, likely near Port McNeil or Malcom Island. We're easy enough to spot (on AIS) and look forward to meeting you (aand Monti). Best Regards.............Cliff

These shots were filmed 5 years ago, when drone flying was relatively new (at least it was for us). That was the one and only summer that we attempted to take pictures from a drone, so I am not sure what the rules are in that remote part of Alaska? That said, from my perspective and after our experience, I would be supportive of there being restrictions. Thanks for watching the video and I hope you found it useful.
