My dad was in WW II. My parents were in British Colony. Three million British Indians volunteered to the War. My father a Engineer build roads through the jungles of Burma. My father negotiated with the tribal people to help him with elephants to cut large trees and have elephants to place the cut trees to create a roadway. My mother and grandmother would enter trenches when the Japanese bombers would circle overhead then drop their bombs. One of the highway from Chittagong to Bandar ban was the work of my father. The other highway he built from Cox's Bazar to Teknaf. These highways are still being used even today.

At 15:56, it is not correct to say the Hambantota port fell into Chinese ownership. It was actually leased by a Chinese company for 99 years to manage and it shared its profits with Sri Lanka. The company even gave 1.15 billion dollars to Sri Lanka to pay off its debts to the other foreign lenders who owned 90% of SLanka's debts. The port is also unsuitable as a naval base as its mouth is too narrow to allow more than one vessel to come and go at the same time.

But despite the corruption, I believe that India will continue to grow economically as well as militarily. And even culturally! Who here in the US has not watched the movie Slumdog Millionaire? Thank you Wion, for this excellent and very informative series; I would say that Xi Jinping's China is not the only surviving communist superpower, rather it is the world's first communist superpower. Surely all previous so called superpowers have been capitalist imperialist. This distinction helps us to better understand the inevitable geopolitical tension that we now have between the last of the capitalist imperialist empires (the U.S.A.) and the first communist empire.

USSR was a communist superpower, maybe not for its entire existence but at least for a while. Mostly because of nukes and a massive military. We have yet to see China's military in true action.. They have better equipment than Russia but no combat experience, and the west still has much better equipment than China. For all we know they could be a paper tiger like Russia. Dictatorships benefit a lot from bluffing and appearing strong. USA doesn't need to bluff, in fact the world underestimates it, USA military technology is scary as hell. And other NATO partners are nothing to sneeze at either, especially the UK and France, but even other NATO partners have great training and quality equipment despite their small armies. The US Navy Pacific fleet alone + some marines could be enough to neutralize the Chinese military if nukes are not involved. Aircraft carriers are vital for power projection and China only has 1 I believe? Meanwhile USA has 10+? USA has its flaws but I''d rather have them as a leading world power than China. China is straight up scary for literally every other country. They have no allies, only frenemies.

There's a reason why WION keeps reporting so negatively about China. Both India and US have issues with China. This episode has provided very precise angle which many Euro/US producers was not able to achieve, to explain the background and logic why XI was willing and able to grip power at such level that his predecessors didn't. And I am 100% sure Chinese Medias (which are totally controlled by CCP) are not capable to explore a similar depth, if they would have to make a introduction to Indian's leaders. It's a great job deserve appreciation.
