Insane how an injury can alter potential. Mr. Silas was before my time. I came to be a spurs fan in97 (and I’m 38 now)And I always wondered WHO Silas was (every time I’d see his jersey) and now I know. So thank you for this. Makes me want to buy a Silas jersey now 👍🏼 On that note I want to wish Blake Wesley a strong and speedy recovery. &also GO SPURS GO!!!

Thanks for sharing. Didn't get a chance to watch him play. I became a fan of the Spurs during Robinson and Duncan time. His niece is my sister-in-law.

1976 All-ABA first team. That year he was the 6th highest per game scorer and had the 2nd best TS% among qualifying players (about 20% more efficient than the league average). What a year.

James Silas #13 and Johnny Moore #00 are the only two retired jerseys I need if only I was born earlier but my childhood was great because from 98-2018 we always started the season like we were gonna party like we did in 1999 Go SPURS Go 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆

You know, it's gonna be a while until the Spurs retire any jersey (beyond Kawhi Leonard's), and Artis Gilmore gave us same great years. Let's retire #53, give the A-Train another richly deserved honor.

I wish he played with Houston in the NBA with Calvin Murphy.they said that Silas was really the biggest star from the ABA during the merger not doctor J but Bill robizine landed on his leg in pre season.was he as quick as tiny Archibald

I think he was more of the Andrew Toney/Joe Dumars/Hersey Hawkins type. Smallish for a two-guard, physical, reliable mid-range jumper. Not a guy with great handles.

He was a point guard not a two guard!!! Handled the ball on every Spurs possession. He played defense, too !! Unlike Kyrie. No drama, either, just play!

He was drive the lane, stop on a dime. The defender would keep backpedaling and Si would shoot the jumper. It was money!! He was a stud!!
