    I commend Mississippi Public Broadcasting for featuring this county and bringing this information to light. The Edwards are doing a tremendous work under dire circumstances! I love their courage because I know it is not easy.

    It's good to see some of the positive things going in the Mississippi Delta with so many still near hopelessness. I'm Little Joe Lewis, I'd like to help the hopeless see hope through building faith in a future being brighter!

    This is truly an inspirational movement. What is unique about this story, a grassroots movement has begun, and over time, will change so many lives.for the better. The positive attitude coupled with a can do spirit are the ingredients for success. The farmers market is a brilliant Idea. Not only does it help the local farmers, but introduces a healthier food choice. I hope a mechanic steps up, and offers to repair the tractor for a contribution to this cause. The younger generation will see the benefits of eating healthy,exercising, and most of all, if you want to change something in your life, get off the couch and go make it happen! Mr. and Mrs Edwards, Well Done! Keep up the good work!

    I have never heard of this place! They have an awe-inspiring story that needs to be told across the nation. This shows each of us that there are really no excuses for overcoming obesity. These people have been able to accomplish so much with so little!

    These two caring & selfless individuals are a testament to the good in mankind. Taking money out of their own pockets & extending their land & a helping hand to their 'fellow neighbors' is a testament to their great character. What a great, wonderful & envious country America would truly be had it possessed likewise individuals such as these two in her corridors of power doing what they can to help, heal & unite people rather than dividing people. I really hope that someone with the financial means comes forward to help these two in getting them a new tractor so that they can continue with their good & worthwhile deeds. It is truly people like this who make America great.

    I love you guys, this is what we all should be doing, forget pride and start a go fund me page for a new tractor, and maybe even that barn and vegetable food market, charging very little for veggies, and printing up easy recipes, you do need help and America wants to help people who want to help themselves, not keep expecting hand outs constantly. I believe you are on the right track please keep it up.good luck.😊

    If this community is ground zero for the obesity issue in America, why haven't they received funding for their efforts?

  • @TheMerovingian101

    @TheMerovingian101

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Olu! This is a great question! As we understand it, the funds for addressing obesity are there, but because when we submit a proposal, we are up against universities, facilities, academia, and professors, and the grants are usually awarded to them because our organization does not have this type of capacity. Therefore, we work from donations and small grants funded by foundations.
