@@danielminskey overall I’m pretty happy with it. The downfall is the size and rigidity. It would be nice to have a little more X & Y travel. There is something you can do to get 1.5” more in y travel, which is nice - but I always recommend getting the biggest, beefiest mill you’re able/willing to. In this range, I would get the PM-30 again.

@@danielminskey and yes - a few upgrades over the years. Besides the CNC conversion, there is the TTS tooling, all the tools themselves, probe, pendant, limit switches, one-shot oiler, and air blast…. I think that’s it…

I am thinking about starting knife making via CNC similar to this. I have a cpl of questions about the G-10. I understand it becomes airborne easily. Is that something that an enclosure could easily handle or would you need a dedicated filtration system? Secondly, how abrasive is the G-10 'dust' (swarf, chips...?)? I would really hate to invest in a new CNC machining center only to be wearing it out from the G-10.

It does become airborne and it’s like a dust - not like a chip. So I’d suggest a filtration system. It is quite abrasive. Covering the ways w/ bellows will help, and if you manage to wear out your gibs, I’d call it a win. Means you’ve gotten a lot of use out of the machine, and likely made a ton of sales! If I ever get to the point where I’ve completely worn something out from use, it’ll be a good thing. Just my opinion. Cheers & good luck!
