After months I finally figured out why I like listening to you guys. Been doing this off and on since 2001 so it's not really to learn (although I do pick up tidbits). Since I'm full-time now you guys are the closest thing to coworkers I have. I actually miss having coworkers. I'm a people person and my solo reselling life misses interacting with people daily. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy lives.

Here is my thing with Mercari I didn’t really lower my prices so I’m actually making more money because two Dollars is Way less for me than 10% on every sale. And I did wait a little longer to withdraw. It got up to 300 before I withdrew. My sales are higher than they’ve ever been ever ever ever.

With the fees- The buyer always pays the service fee which varies between 5-15%. If you use your balance they waive the payment processing fee. If you don't have a balance, you pay both fees.

It seems like the discord is a great value. And your not just throwing your money away

A lot of the flea market people around where I live are shady like some weird carnie's. They are the living incarnation of that episode of the Andy Griffith Show when Andy cooks up a grand backstory to sell a worthless canon. Ask Kevin to explain, I bet he can tell you all about that episode! Dem' boys can spin a heck of yarn about an item and it's value and let you know why you're getting a heck of a deal. Another fun show gents.

The mercari service fee varies. I don't know how the percentage is determined though. I had someone buy a bundle of stuff and they paid $67 plus a $3.35 service fee, $4.99 shipping, $2.83 payment fee and $5.02 tax. My sales have stayed the same on there. I always go on streaks where I sell a ton at the same time then it slows down then picks up again. I also almost always list higher on mercari and posh when I crosslist and am still getting the sales even with the buyer paying fees.

On your toys that take batteries, if it’s not bad you can put some baking soda on the battery acid and then spray with white vinegar and then clean them up, a lot of times it works great again

I agree there is an abundance of stuff, I always get to estate sales and flea markets super late and still find amazing things. I have so much stuff, that I cut back on buying until I sell some of it.

I experimented with buying on Mercari under the new system. They're actually charging the buyer 2 fees - the payment processing fee and a "service fee". The payment fee is waved if you use your balance to pay the whole thing (but not if your balance doesn't cover the total). The service fee is not waved. So it's more than the 2.9%, it's roughly equal to what they were charging sellers. The goal for Mercari seems to be keeping money in its ecosystem, they probably are trying to make more revenue off the money they're holding in our balances (through interest). Or maybe they're claiming those balances as liquid capital on their books? It feels like there's more going on the back end than what we're seeing.

I just shipped a full set of irons in a 48x4x4 box for $13. Sent via UPS Ground. It went to New York from Florida. I haven't seen that same price increase that Dave is seeing on UPS shipments of golf clubs.

We got wise years ago, we get 2x or better money to not show you what we don't want you to see, if we even entertain you looking before start of flea market. One it is a hassle, two you all never want to pay the price we get from our customers, three not fair to our customers, I could come up with many more. Then just how disrespectful those early buyers are with your items, digging through like they own it, before it is even off the trailer or truck making a mess of all your packing of the items. My Mercari sales have plummeted since the switch, and I was doing better than Dave on Mercari. I'm glad he's doing better, but I don't think that's the norm.

I don't think Jen is used to sharing at sales. I enjoy watching her too. Anything is a puppet if you keister it Curtis Jere, dave misspelled it. LOVE Fall Guy! If you are going to drive an expensive car it's not a Caddy anymore. Should be sports cars that you can't source in. lol

With Mercari, I'm listing my items a little lower (not 10%) that what I have the same item for on eBay. If everyone did that, more buyers may flock to Mercari as their item would be cheaper, despite the added fees on the buyer's end.
