And I was literally a bean pole until my thirties and could pretty much eat what I liked and not gain weight. Then at 38 and two children later, I took antidepressants and gained 18 kgs in 10 months. I am now 52 (pre-diabetic, high blood pressure and in menopause) and have not to this day been able to lose this weight and I have tried EVERYTHING - now 25 kg overweight. Finally there is some light at the end of the tunnel early in my GLP-1 journey - feeling hopeful 🙏🏻😻
My Dr has told me that I am pre-diabetic. I’m a 63 yr old female. I also had the vertical gastric sleeve at 50. I lost 100 pounds in a year. 5 yrs ago I fell and hurt my back. My activity stopped because of the inability to walk. Well, with depression and not moving I gained 60 pounds. I am going to a dr on the 29 to begin taking whatever she recommends. What I have realized in researching Mounjaro is the mental voice that torments me isn’t unusual. People are saying that the voice isn’t there any more. I’ve cried so much because of the validation that I’m not crazy. Thank you so much for this interview. Thank you Rose for being so honest and vulnerable. I just want to be healthy. Thank you !!!

O wow Rosie! It took me until I was in my 50s to understand that I sabotaged myself because of sexual abuse that happened as a child and went on into late 20s as I continued to allow it to happen with others. I finally knew I was worth something and did not deserve that kind of treatment. I ended up at 105 but I'm only 5'2. Once I got pregnant I started gaining. They didn't discover that my pregnancy caused diabetes. After that I actually loved getting less attention. I didn't catch eyes when I entered the room. I didn't have stalkers. I didn't have people trying to pull me over on the road or following me home. I look back and see I did this for myself but now I have serious health issues. I think what have I done to myself? Now I am a strong person. I can tell people no I'm not married nor do I have anyone in my life but I don't want anyone in my life like that. I'm Happy! Now I just want to get healthy not only for me but my family. They do need me to be around. At least right now lol. I do have diabetes. I have not found a medicine that helps me without severe fast drops in my sugar. My doctor is actually scared for me. She is worried about a heartache, stroke, or coma, and death. She's telling me if you could get the weight of I think you would recover. I've been searching. I think I want to try this. I appreciate this group of women sharing your personal stories. Getting the weight off will help me. I try eating right and do great for awhile but I have a hard time because I eat when I hurt and I do have some issues that can't be helped at this time some because of the diabetes. I think the weight coming off will help that as well. I just hope to be able to get extra skin removed (I know it's gonna happen) lol. Going to my heart doctor tomorrow to get his opinion and then making that appointment with my family doctor. Wish me luck and this medicine helps and doesn't disappoint me. I want to be here for my family and of course myself. Love to you all and thank you all!

I pray that Lilly takes you up on your offer to be a spokesperson for Mounjaro. I totally understand the food chatter in your head and with me too, the noise stopped after my first dose back on November 28 2022. I’m down 50 and i actually wanted to be 165 but have gotten to 145. I want to drop doses back to 2.5 or 5.0. I’ve been on 7.5 for a few months. But i am worried that if i am not able to get mounjaro that all that noise will come back. I am currently paying 25$ and that is doable but i am 60 and I’m a lunchroom lady full time and i cut hair from my home and i instacart to make extra money. Lazy i am not but i can only afford a small portion for medications. It’s so frustrating. Anyway, i didn’t mean to over share… mounjaro has changed my life. I’m proud to represent a positive outcome.

@@ThePlusSideZ I agree!!! I bet it was definitely hard . I'm the biggest cry baby
Thank you Rosie for your upfront and honesty in this very difficult syndrome of weight loss. I am beginning my second month on ozempic and relate to everything you say. My concern is that Medicare doesn’t cover weight loss drugs for older people. This absolutely needs to change. PREVENTION!

Well, I am a young person and I can’t get my medication for Crohn’s disease. And had to come off of two medication’s. That will cost me over $5000 a month only to be left sick and in pain we need universal healthcare in this country!

Yaaaayyy Rosie!
Thanks to Rosie! I started in Dec Mounjaro as well…i had lost 40 lbs for the millionth time in my life and knew when i began gaining again that I needed to finally give in to medication. Obesity genetics here and overweight off and on since age 6. Im 60 and just can’t do the yoyo anymore…life of torture re weight and thoughts of foood.. OMG the difference that this medication has made for me. I absolutely cannot believe the effect either that this medication has made on my mind re thoughts around food. I have genetics for this and it helps!!! Finally…it isn’t my fault..confirmed when you see a medication can take the obsessive thoughts around food completely away. I am blown away that I can now eat a normal portion and actually “be happy” about it. Lol. I just cannot do the yoyo again and my dr told me this is for life for me…I really hope nothing comes up that makes it necessary for me to go off of the medication. I believe that the prior thought around “emotional eating”, Bulimia ect will be turned on it’s ear as not based on “trauma” dysfunctional family dynamics” ect. 100 percent. With this medication..I feel normal….just wish I had had the meds at age 20 vice 60..but better late than never. Wonder how life “could have been different” if I had had this medication when young.

The best part of Rosie O'Donnell promoting those weight loss medications/diabetes meds is that she is relatable and she's not one of those rail thin celebrities that are doing it to get thinner. I seen y'all wanted to fan girl out in the beginning. Thank you for keeping your composures. Great show ladies 👏 ❤️

Exactly! Rosie gets it. And it was very hard to keep it together. Thank you for noticing our restraint 💜
I have been taking MJ since October and have lost over 50 pounds so far. I grew confidence in myself. I finally had the courage to leave a job of over 25 years. I am unwilling to go back to life before.

I’m so excited and proud of you! As Rosie would say, onward!
I was on Ozempic for 6 weeks then my insurance wouldn’t cover it. Yet my A1c dropped from 6.4 to 5.1. I lost 15 lbs and felt the same Rosie shared, just not distracted by food noise. I just was not hungry. About 3 weeks after I was taken off of it, I became so hungry. And I know it’s biological and psychological. Now my weight has come back, and I’ve had a small heart attack, an NSTEMI. Sadly I’m hoping I’m “bad enough” now my insurance will reconsider coverage. I can’t afford the $1150 a month otherwise. Thank you for sharing this platform. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much, ladies, for doing this! I have PCOS, high BP, sleep apnea, very high triglycerides, etc, and I've begged my DR to put me on these meds, with no avail. I'm honestly desperate at this point. I deal with binge eating disorders, too, so I'm not sure why my DR won't help me.

I say this with love…fire him & tell him why. Its the only thing that will make these doctors get educated on how to treat this complex disease. Talk to an obesity specialist, endocrinologist, or a bariatric specialist that will prescribe GLP1s. You’re not alone. It’s not your fault.
