Most parts of the USA do not need it but those that do we borate treat the Logs etc. and put up a shield and treat the ground.Thanks for watching

I learnt a lot from this video very insightful thankyou for sharing the process is defiantly pay someone like you guys if I was going to build a log cabin. What effect does the cracks in the logs have over tjme? I believe you have to treat wooden exterior regularly how would one look after a house like this to maintain it from weathering and damp

Hey Zach, I have always wondered with such square footage and high ceilings how is dust controlled when the house is occupied by the residents. Would dust not settle over time inside the home on the logs and the little crevices. How does one maintain and do timely upkeep? Is there a proper method? Would love to know, thanks!!

Dust doesn't accumulate very much above 10ft and it's no more difficult to keep up on the dust. How much dust you have in your home depends on several factors including where you live, the season, how many people live in your home, whether you have pets, and even how you clean.

This is really cool thank you for sharing. I want to make a house like this one day, but I would like to do it myself. I just have to figure out how and the people I need to connect with that can supply me.

I watched ep 7 before seeing this on how you constructed this. I wanted to say to you that this home is fantastic. But I wanted to suggest that you use #10 wire to reduce the electric bill. An electrical engineer in Inyokern Ca built his home this way and his electric bill was about 30 to 80 a month then after adding solar no bill at all. Also I was wanting to let you know that battery powered caulking guns make the caulking duties alot easier.

Hey thats a very interesting engineering idea. If possible can you tell how the log are made available and don't that lead to deforestation to get that a huge load of logs. Also is there any alternative for logs that's more environment friendly?
