I love Ace Frehley. But I say without hesitation that Tommy is such a great guitarist and is a great fit with Kiss.

Tommy says, in this video, that he has played some of the Epiphone Les Pauls on stage - I take him at his word, and I think this is a great, fantastic thing. The biggest difference between a Gibson Les Paul and an Epi with good pickups is how the guitar feels and plays - in terms of sound, I doubt anyone in the audience could tell the difference. Props for playing an Epi on stage once in a while!

budgetguitarist.com he used to play a lot of Gibsons but switched entirely to epiphone! His sig models are great! I have the white lightning explorer and you can play anything on it it’s very versatile and smooth to play

budgetguitarist.com Agreed. In 2019 we live in such a fertile time for guitars. You don’t have to pay a ton of money for a good guitar anymore if you don’t want to. I currently play a Les Paul style guitar that cost $250 and it plays great and stays in tune and sounds like a Les Paul should.

Just bought a Plus Pro Standard and love it. Wish Epiphone had been making guitars like these back when I started playing. I’d have a dozen by now.

Sparkly. I love it

I have his first one, the Silver sparkle Spaceman and I live it. The silver one actually uses all Gibson electronics and 498 pickups and it blows the doors off of most of my other Les Paul's. If you look for a silver on on Reverb you will notice they are selling for more than the original asking price!! I like his white lightning line as well, but I wish they would have used Gibson pickups!! I'm not so sure about this blue one though, it's a pretty color but by having everything blue I think it's a bit too much, but it sure is pretty! Lol I have never seen Tommy using an Epiphone on stage, maybe he did for some photo ops but everytime I see him in photos or videos he is using a Gibson. I like Epiphone guitars and don't usually hesitate to buy one, I might just have to add this one to my collection as well lol.

Usually the only times he plays the Epiphones are when a fan buys one of his guitar/meet & greet packages. If you buy the package, he'll sign the guitar however you like during the meet and greet, and then he'll play the actual guitar you'll receive during the show. But yeah, besides that he has a whole fleet of custom Gibsons.

Thing looks pretty awesome Epiphone is simply destroying Gibson even with the recent changes I don't hear as many people talking about Gibson as I do Epiphone. People are saying here in the comments that this one has the new headstock is the new headstock on all new Epiphone models yet or just this one? I have been waiting to get a 335 epiphone but I wanted to wait until they rolled out open book headstock. I've seen no announcements about the headstock launching so I'm wondering where it is

I read that there is an actual maple cap on this model. It's not supposed to be as thick as Gibson's but still a real top.

It does have a maple cap and it is the same thickness as Gibson's.

Thanks for the video I love these new Epiphone guitars that they are coming out with now they Rock mine has Billy Gibbons custom shop pickups on it and I put a 50s wiring harness and tone pros and locking be tuners you should hear this guitar now I plays just as good as any Gibson out there it is my number one guitar now Epiphone guitars Rock.

I like this paint job on this guitar old school car hot rod sparkle paint with duncan jb and 59 and grover tuners tommy thayer signature guitars are great quality guitars played one and i loved it gotta get one myself

I love Epi's they're great guitars, had a Epi '69' V in cherry red which was the love of my life but some bastard stole it, what I wouldn't give to have it back. Not a big fan of the Les Paul shape but gotta say this blue one sure looks the part...

When i was a teenager, we met Tommy outside Madison Square Garden when Black n Blue opened for Kiss back in 85. First time i ever had a beer!! I'll be honest, we liked his band but Tommy is, and always has been Fuckin Ugly!! We used to call him "FART FACE"!!!!!!!!! To the REAL haters though, he's just doing his job. A job that if he had turned down, would of just gone to someone else. Why not get paid that kiss money! Ace will ALWAYS be NO.1 for me & countless others, but, Fart Face does a good job.

No doing pulls off's on this is just like any other guitar, same method absolutely no difference. Lol.. I know what you mean, I was just messing with ya about the pull offs. I guess I am like you, these flashy guitars just really aren't my bag, but ya know what? Maybe we need to change that up a bit ehh? I have Tommy's Silver Spaceman but the sides and back and neck are black only the front is silver. I think them making it all sparkle blue is a bit gawdy.

Obviously a Montrose fan playing Space Station #5 and I Got The Fire.

Ace has said that he didn't sell his makeup to Gene and Paul but he licenses it to them, so they're actually paying Ace to use his makeup. So they probably don't make as much off of it as you'd think.

Tommy, how come you don't play your own, beautiful Epiphone Signature Guitars in concert (Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NYC Aug. 2019 and elsewhere including the infamous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade)? Instead, you played Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls and a single pickup Gibson Explorer, which you used during your extended solo and pyrotechnics show. I own the White Lighting Explorer and it's a very nice guitar! That is bad business for Epiphone if you don't play your signature guitars that they put so much effort to create and market. I wish I could upload pictures I took of you to support my point.

Tyler Solfest Yes. $850 is affordable relatively speaking in regards to guitars. But in real dollars it can be quite expensive. Thankfully there are guitars that cost less than $500 these days and even less than $300 that play and sound great.

Nice job covering Ace’s solos.

Its a beautiful guitar but I emailed Epi back in the days of when they offered the silver Thayer LP to see if they had any left handed models. They said no and won't be making any. I would have just bought it outright if they did make them LH. Nice way to drop the ball,Epiphone. Not good.

This is a really specific custom model, it doesn't make sense that they would offer it left handed since probably out of 20 they would sell 2, I doubt they will sell many right handed ones since this a very specific guitar that you just don't go to the store and pickup unless you are into dussenberg or something like that lol

How does the guy cosplaying as Ace Frehley have several Epiphone signatures while Ace has none currently? I'm pretty sure Epiphone would sell more Ace guitars than Tommy Thayer guitars.
