I just purchased the same bass and I love it. The action was VERY high and it was difficult to play. After studying the setup I determined that the Nut was ways to tall and it needed attention. I removed it and found that it a premium nut material. Ended up shaving off quite a bit of material from the bottom. After tinkering with the Nut and Bridge I was able to SLAM the GHS round wound strings down onto the neck. I'm telling what this is a BEAST of a bass guitar. Never had to mess with the truss rod , all I did was shave the Nut until the strings were just about to touch the fretboard and adjusted the TRI POD bridge set up. and away we go. I also purchased an Epiphone Les Paul guitar and with a little studying and set up this guitar 🎸 screams. Both of them have that UNIQUE Humbucker powerful sound. The best money I have ever spent on two Axes 🪓.

I had one of these as my first bass when I was 14. The bushings in mine did the EXACT same thing. Glad to know I wasn't the only one. Gibson three point bridges aren't very nice to deal with, they should have sucked it up, admit fender got it right, and just copied them. Lookin forward to the follow up there, Dave. Thanks for the videos!

I had one of these in about 2013 and it came with a loose truss rod so i sold it. I like old stuff so the 60s style sg bass appealed to me and the epiphone being full scale made it a no brainer. I just recently picked up a ESP LTD viper 254fm which is a prototype made for market/dealer response. Its spec'd the same as their flagship ltd vipers but with flamed maple top and dot inlays. I paid a bit too mich for it but it is full sclae kinda like a cross between a sg and a jazz bass. Unless o get a great steal of a deal, i wont be after a eb3.

Have you seen a 3 point bridge that was actually bent upwards? I had a Hondo II professional bass (basically a Gibson-scale bass with DiMarzio p-bass pickups, and a symmetrical double cutaway melody maker-like body) that had a bridge that had bowed upward. That bridge was pretty much identical to this one. I replaced the bridge.

I own one of these that I picked up for next to nothing and I keep it at my rehearsal space as a back up for when it's too cold or I'm too lazy to take a bass to practice. Something different to play when I'm looking to play something other than one of my jazz or precison basses. Not the best bass in the world but a classic design that has made it on alot of famous recordings.

My EB-0 was cracked there too. Crap. Another thing I noticed about my EpicBoned-Zero... The three-point bridge was terrible. The front point acted like a pivot, and the rear two points wouldn't fully seat into the hooks properly. Tuning is a pain, and I still haven't been able to turn the inside of that front point down enough to make it work.

That's a Rough Bass! I Bought mine through a Reputable Dealer, No Cracks, or Issues at all! The Neck on mine was Good and straight, and I only had to do a Minor adjustment to the bridge. I swapped out the Factory Strings for a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky"s, and the Bass played Flawless from the start! No One should have to invest This Much Work into a Starter Priced Guitar. If It has That Much Damage, simply Return it. Sorry that you had a Bad Experience with what is otherwise a Great Bass Guitar.

The EB3 is the long scale neck, and the EB0 is the short scale bolt-on neck. I have seen a few of these long scale necks get stress fractures. A few people have complained that the Gibson and Epiphone basses are prone to these type of stress fractures. Very expensive fix because of the set neck.....

I have just received a used (mint condition) EB-0. I was surprised how weak the neck/headstock joint looks. I have an Epi SG, but that looks way stronger because it is wider at the nut (6 string). Anyway I like the EB-0 for my first bass, and will have to take care of that headstock; at least it's a bolt on neck so can be replaced.

Fer preventative maintenence purposes. The EB-3's owner should drill a pilot, hole 2cm deep, on the neck fretboard, between the first fret and nut. Then counter sink a bolt in there and cover it up with a custom chiseld pearloid / trapizoidal inlay...I think.

And I used epoxy too... the big thing is to make sure it doesn't run all the way down into the post holes. Otherwise, you end up gluing the screw in place. I don't think I'll ever buy another Epiphone with that three-point bridge. No wonder someone put a Hipshot bridge on that one you were trying to get the action right on!
