Great demo, Joe! Thank you for demoing the clean tones so thoroughly before you hit the gain. Huge help in understanding what this guitar's all about. Thanks!

I bought two as i could not decide between this and the higher priced natural. I wanted to pimp one out. The Electrics and pickups are ok. There lower volume output than my Natural. The size of the neck is smaller than the Natural. I thought the woods and general build were not as good as the Natural. So i kept the Natural one. But i loved the Casino so much that i went after a year buy a USA Epiphone Casino!

I'm currently in the market for a new guitar. I've been playing an Epi Black Beauty Les Paul and loving it, but I want a hollowbody for the look, and since I'm the only guitar player in my band, I need something that's gonna cut through and have a super round tone. I think it's between this and the Gretsch Electromatic.

Nice review. Just got one a few days ago. Mine could use a unpressed to the bridge, nut, selector switch, and tuners if I’m being honest. Frets, finish, and P90s are nice though.

Jam Murr I'm surprised you don't like the bridge. It's a Lockdown Tune-o-matic which they use on the vast majority of their models. I have it on a few guitars and I've never had a problem with it.

Can you please do a tone comparison with the China made Casino? I ask because this worn version has pro P-90's which has a humbucker type fit in a P-90 size pickup and the China version has classic T and R P-90's which are closer to traditional P-90's. Thank you

Can anyone help? I bought a regular Casino a month ago. I like it a lot except for two issues: 1) Tuning: The tuning heads are so small it's annoying and awkward. I could live with them if the guitar stayed in tune but a few hard bends and it's gone. I know I can pay a luthier to replace them with Grovers or whatever, not sure how much that would cost...but would it help stay in tune? How can a $650 guitar have such bad tuners? 2) Playability: It's not awful but certain things seem "off". When I do big bends sometimes the adjacent string "pops" over the top of the string I'm bending. Never experienced that before. Also when I'm playing the higher frets, it takes more pressure and accuracy to get a clean and solid note. I have a week or two where I can still return it, and I played my 18 year old Schecter S1 Plus and NONE of the above issues exist, but I did have a setup done when I bought it. I forgot how smooth and buttery it was, cuz I've been playing almost all acoustic for the last 15 years. So, I was ready to pay for new tuners and a setup, and then I see the Casino Worn today. But it's $200 less! What's the catch? I checked Epiphone website see the fingerboard is not Pau Ferro and that the neck profile is different, (why the neck profile different on the "same" guitar?) but I'm not sure what that means in terms of playability which is very important to me. Are the pickups the exact same? Are the fret sizes the same? I went to Epiphone website to compare but a lot of it is vague. The regular says "5 layered maple" and the Worn says "Maple" on Epiphone website. I love the Worn look, and I'm thinking "If I'm gonna put $200 into it after the fact, am I better off buying the cheaper Worn version b/c in end I'll end up at the same place for less money?" But is it likely that a setup will fix the playability issues? Will the Worn one still not be as good because of inferior materials? Ugh!

Definitely need a set up sounds like. Tuners should be fine, it's your nut that needs fixing if you're having tuning issues. I'm assuming the worn version is less quality as the price is 200 cheaper than the older epiphones. I'd keep what you got and get it set up, should fix all your issues

Also the strings could still be stretching if it's going out when you bend

Thanks man. I'll take it to a luthier ASAP for a look-see and if he also thinks a setup will resolve things I'll just do that, otherwise I could end up trading out for a Worn, and be unpleasantly surprised b/c of cheaper materials. I don't thing it's a string issue cuz I've played it a decent amount almost every day so they should be stretched out...

@@joeblough261 usually when there are tuning problems the nut is the issue 90 percent of the time so should be a fairly easy fix. You could lubricate the nut slots with graphite for now and see if it helps. If you hear pings when you are tuning its definitely the nut. The luthier should get it playing great though
