In my opinion they really did a good job, man its a cover thats intention isn't to sound the same like the original, and they combined the great fear factory songwriting with their own style

+NEXCUSX They did that a couple of years ago in LA, according to an interview with Burt. And they're going to perform at Epic Metal Fest (organised by Epica) on 22nd november 2015 in Holland to play Demanufacture completely. Maybe Simone will help him with the clean vocals in Replica.. he sometimes needs a little bit of help. And that from a big FF fan. Love Genexus.

I’m shocked by how well the chorus goes with her vocals. I got goosebumps & that almost never happens. Impressive.

I actually heard this version before I knew who Fear Factory was, and now they're one of my favorite bands. I saw them last month with Orbit Culture and Machine Head.

EXCELLENT cover. One of the most important things with covers in my opinion, and its something you see less ans less, is the musicians (like the guitar, bass, drums etc) learn how to play it accurately, as it was originally written. This is a perfect example, the music was flawless. Vocals... I really liked it. I think she owned it really well, and to be able to own something that Burton does is hard to do, because he is an amazing singer. Put it this way, its made me curious now to look at more of Epica's stuff.

because cultist fans of the band who listen to Fear Factory religiously, are butt hurt, because the feel it ruins there sacred bands song. not even joking, most of these fanatics will have shrines dedicated to the band along with multiple copies of the same CD but in a different format.

Play the original and this cover and the same time and prepare for a scary amount of epicness.

To all the people who say the original is "obviously better" Music is art, and like all art it is subject to taste. If you don't like it, say you don't like it. Saying it sucks is not accurate, because there's always people who have different tastes. Take me for example. I've heard both versions, and I was bored by Fear Factory's original performance, while I thoroughly enjoy this cover.

A female vocalist really changes the context of the song... In the FF version, he is singing about becoming the rapist that caused his conception (replicating his father). With a female vocalist, she is singing about being a rape victim (replicating her mother). This creeps me the fuck out to listen to.

Interesting interpretation of the lyrics. I’ve always heard it sung from the POV of someone who feels their own existence is invalid because they are a product of rape.

Original is better obviously but i still love this cover, this band deserves kudos for the awesome cover

Fair play... I haven't. I listened to some of their initial offerings and didn't impress me much, especially with their relationship with Kamelot. I do owe them a fair listen. ^_^

I don't mind the cover, its ok. My personal opinion they should've seen if Burton Bell would've done a duet with her :)

Not bad ... but may have been better with growls on verses and mixes on transition imho (I like the choruschorus) , to respect both Burton's parts and Epica's gimmicks Makes me prefer Lacuna's Depeche Mode or Arch Enemy's Tears for Fears covers

I like the chorus vocals, and that is surprising because I usually hate female clean vocals in metal bands. (nightwish, evanescence, etc).

Fear Factory are my favorite metal band of all time and, while I am not a fan, I think Epica are a pretty cool band for what they do. Unfortunately I don't think FF's industrial style suited them as much as they hoped to. Even though Simmone is a great singer she sounds off here. The brutal vocals are horribole. Still, I am happy they gave it a shot and I don't think the cover deserves the hate it gets. Chill out people, it's music, not war.

The harsh vocals are very At The Gates sounding which is fine.

The cover itself is okay (apart from the growls, they should have get someone better to do it). What makes it bad the production. But kudos for doing such a cover

Their growler is weak... Aside from this it's a very very good cover. (Though nothing ever beats the original of course)

One thing is to say "i prefer this music much more than the original", but claiming "this is much better than the original" is plain ignorance. Educate yourself. This song was created in 1995, that's 17 years ago, there's no way epica could ever come out with such a power track like this one. I enjoy this version very much, but the comparison you just made isnt much different from the ones that claim that Bieber is better than Queen.

Making a cover is all about paying respect to a band. How did the band, who's main influence is classical music, ruined the industrial metal band, who's all about technology, with today's technology? Not mentioning that this cover is more than ten years old, making it hardly ''today's'' technology.

I guess you don't understand many things in life.

Instrumentals are extremely faithful to the original. Vocals aren't so hot.

Okay, since its unfair to rate and comment on bands u dont like, I guess there's an exception to it when it's one of your favourite songs. This cover is actually pretty cool. But man, the sync. vocals and those growls are fucking awful. The CHORUS is beautiful and so is the keyboard support. I will definitely check out this band more.
