Seeing how the dead sing the last thoughts they had when they died... At least, Polites died hopeful, so he's stuck in a happy-ish loop. The others are stuck suffering or waiting.
If this is how he finds out his mom died, that is just heartbreaking. 😭🥲

Want to know something even more heartbreaking? Not only is this how he finds out his mother died, but the reason she passed is because she saw the ships coming but saw the storm push them out and she thought they died so she drowned herself in the ocean to be with her son. 😢🥺
