"when the crown wonders where the prince is only the ocean and I will know" is THE best lyric in the whole musical and there are some great lyrics in this one

@@Zephirite. this just makes me hope he chooses to take on the role of a villain in some future project, because he really nails it with this and his delivery of Poseidon’s songs. But I kinda hope this one goes to someone with a slightly deeper baritone voice with a bit of range, to contrast against Odysseus’ voice and some of the others

This is Jorge’s (Odysseus’s singer) demo for the character, as he writes for every character. He already held auditions for the role, and Ayron Alexander will be Antinous singer in the final version.

I hate how hard this song goes considering the lyrics. This would kill at karaoke until that second half lmao. Can’t get over the riff at the end on “take controoooouoahoall”

@@Liz4rd.Thing124 OH, well there are shorts of this song cut into pieces with the words as well so they might also be a fan. It's for an upcoming musical called EPIC, and the creator shows sneakpeaks and clips of the songs.

I think Jay Rivera-Herrans did a wonderful job making the suitors threatening here while still making their song sound like a banger 😆 Whenever I tried to sing this before, I kept hesitating on finishing the lyrics because of what they said they’d do to Penelope, but after hearing a compiled version of the song, I just try to have fun singing the song while staying aware of the story.

Can already see this happening in the song. The suitors have tried to partake in the challenge. But none of them could string the bow. So they state their plan thinking no one else would know. But when they’re not looking, someone grabbed the bow and the song ends with that impossible shot. The suitors are struck with surprise, only to find the stranger vanished.

This is so unsettling! He did such a good job!

Antinous is one of Penelope’s (Odysseus’s wife) suitors. He’s sorta seen as the ‘leader’ of the suitors. So this scene is him talking to the other suitors and planning the murder of Telemachus (Odysseus’s son) and the… uh… not sure what the non-triggering/politically correct term for what they’re planning to do to Penelope but yeah…. So this is near the end of the story. I don’t remember the exact details that come before or after though. It’s been probably 3 or 4 years since I read the Odyssey.

The line “none of us can string this/we don’t have the power/screw this damn challenge” is bc Penelope kept creating contests that the suitors had to win to marry her, hoping they’d fail and buying time for Odysseus to return. This contest was to string a massive bow-requiring strength only Odysseus had, so she knew it was near impossible. That’s why Adonious is angry-he sees it for the delay it is.

This is from epic the musical which is a musical of odyssey by homer and here the villains are planning to kill main character's son and grape his wife

If any of ya'll don't know whats happening, I am here to explain. So, the *suitors* are people who have been waiting for years and years to marry penelope (odyseuss' wife) but, she's faithful to him, so she said when telemachus (odyseuss' son) becomes a man, then she will choose. Telemachus grows into a man and Penelope reluctantly says that when she finishes sewing a shroud for odyseuss and excepting his "death", *then* she will choose. She knits every day and in the night, she undoes all the sewing. Hoping Odyseuss will come home soon. Meanwhile, the suitors are begining to hate telemachus' guts, they make a plan to kill him. Which is why antinous says "haven't you noticed who's missing? Don't you know the prince is *not* around, I heard he's on a diplomatic mission, and I heard today he comes back to town." and so on. Basically they sent Telemachus on a quest to find his dad(odyseuss). Obviously, Telemachus falls for their trick because he really looks up to his dad, and misses him. But, Telemachus actually does find Odyseuss, and they plan to kill all the suitors in a challenge that Penelope set up. Telemachus told her that it was time, and she announced that "the first man to work Odyseuss' bow thing-a -ma bob (she didn't actually say that but I forgot what it was called)gets to be my . . . fiance. So, Athena hears this and helps Odyseuss, lets just say he walked in their as an old man, used the bow thing-a-ma bob and killed a bunch of suitors, and afterward him and Telemachus try to convince Penelope that the old man is really Odyseuss. (i don't know why he didn't just turn back to himself again, don't ask me, ask athena) So, obviously, Penelope gives him a test, it went something like this; " Maids, please bring down the master bed so we can sleep down here" Penelope says this knowing that the maids know to not bring the bed down, because it is connected to the house with some magical super important wood, or something like that, someone correct me on this, but Odyseuss replies with "Woman, are you crazy?? We had that bed connected to this house with that magical wood !!! Don't tell me you cut it down!??!!?!?" And Penelope knew that this man was indeed Odyseuss since, only the two of them and the maids knew that secret. Ok, im rereading this and I think that I may have went a little overboard, sorry!

This particular suitor, Antinous wants to kill Telemachus, and sexually assault Penelope and marry her so he can become king of Ithaca, as they think Odysseus is dead.

Yknow how the second in command is always echoed by the rest of the men? It's because he speaks for them. Antinous speaks for the suitors.
