When I was serving in Guam in the Marine Corps I had the duty on November 10th 1986. Our commander wanted to run a direct drill on the front gate and I was giving the starring role of the the sweeping team. I was fire team leader and was hauling ass with my combat gear and I broke my knee to the point of "fubar". The next day at naval hospital Guam they stuck a needle in me and I became a drug addict for the rest of my life I had dreams of fighting wars being a hero ended up a drug addict sad but true. Don't feel sorry for me my path was for me to walk and walk it I did now I am on the other side and I am doing okay. My God above has spared me from the endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I used to be bitter because I thought I missed my chance to be a hero but now I realize no sane man would ever wish combat on himself. Respect for all of our Young warriors who have come back and now face hostel citizens who don't respect what we do or what our country stands for . They are killing themselves at an alarming rate now that they realize they have fought an unjust war for a corrupt government in foreign lands where they killed people who never should have died .PTSD is real and is plaguing our veterans like a cancer . God bless and help them all .

Trivia. During the war of 1812, the British attacked and burned DC. They left one group of buildings standing…the Marines barracks. Because the USMC were the last to leave DC, protecting other troops and civilians as they evacuated from the British Invasion. Those barracks stand today.

@80MReasonWhy In your opening statement a 1:50, U are wrong in UR statement!!!😮 U are full of BS!!! U sound like you are a lime-me! Every U.S. Marine is taught during basic training about the history of the Civil War against King George the III 1775a.d through 1783a.d. and the birth of The U.S. Marine Corp. Every U.S. Marine is given a history lesson on the Decaration of Independece against a tyrannical King! We go into battle defending the Declaration of Indelendence against tyranny, defending the Articles 1 through 7 of the Constitution 1783a.d. thru 1787a.d. and defending our Bill of Rights 1787a.d to 1791a.d. without any modern day convienency we have today. All three of these documents are Federal law for the people, citizens before they take their Oath. Unlawful orders by an officer to fire live ammunition into unarmed civilians, males, woman and children can be refused by any rank in the U.S. Marine Corp as well as the other four branches of our U.S. Military as well as the National Gaurd from 50 states1

How do I go about responding to this? The war against King George was the Revolutionary war. 1776. The Civil War didn't start until the 1860's. And no, USMC recruits are not given a history lesson. Chosin, The Boxer Rebellion, Tarawa and Iwo Jima is about the only history we were ever taught with a nod given to Mai Lia. That's it.
