My theory: traps are attracted to noise and contact so they activated. But owls fly super stealthy so traps dont hear it or feel it

All the pets have different uses and different strengths, there is no “best pet.” For example electro owl can go good with Warden because of his long range and the Mighty Yak goes good with Queen for Queen charges while Lassi can keep up with the royal champion and jump over the walls with her. The unicorn is good for Barb King because when you use for funneling you can keep him alive to funnel longer. So there is no best pet.
