This video has been most helpful in my getting the Epic Pen app to communicate with OBS and get through to my streams. My arrows need to be placed a little higher vertically than their target (horizontal placement is fine) and I see no way around that for now, but I'm much further along that I was before viewing this. Very good software, I recent use whiteboard marker in top of transparent with white paper underneath and using "almost white" chroma key to annotate.

Hi Kevin! Have you experienced any problems using Epic Pen and SnagIt together? The SnagIt automatically selected an invisible area on one of my screens(I'm using three monitors). It was quite annoying and it turned out that it happens when the Epic Pen is opened/running in the background.

Hi Kevin, thank you so much for this idea of using epic pen. I just want to ask why the the writings cannot be seen in recording at obs. I also tried zoom, same effect, I can see the epic pen written on my pc screen but my guest in zoom cannot see the writings. I wonder why you are able to record the epic pen. What could have been the problem in my case. Thanks

I followed everything in your tutorial, downloaded the epic pen, added the epic pen to one of my sources, then I added filter to the black screen by choosing black as my color key. The epic pen will only write on my screen. It can appear only when I screen shot. But will not appear on the recording and cannot be seen in zoom

Nice. It's a shame Windows doesn't do this. I have a touchscreen laptop with an associated pen but Windows only seems to let me either snip&annotate or create written sticky notes. The drawing tools within Office apps are OK. Edge used to let me annotate on web pages, but this feature has disappeared since Edge moved over to Chromium. Nowhere can I see a method of just drawing on my desktop like this Epic Pen app appears to do. Am I wrong?

The issue is how to draw with the mouse, which is not idea because it wont be good draw and be fast. Is there a pen (hardware) I can use to draw, like I am drawing on white or blackboard? Zoom, MS Word, Excel all have good drawing tools now. No need for 3rd party software. If you how do I use a pen to draw, I would appreciate the reply. I do not have smart phone, nor tablet etc. just simply old desktop with no touch scree.

I followed all the steps. When I draw on the screen i see the drawing, but nothing appears on the canvas. I have the epic pen window capture as the top source. Any advice?

Have run into a problem. I'm using powerpoint, and I've used it in both window and display capture. When I use epic pen to annotate, over the powerpoint display, it works fine. Until...I want to resume advancing slides. In order to do that, I then have to select the cursor in epic pen, click on the powerpoint presentation, and then the slides will advance. Is there some way to keep powerpoint active even when I'm using epic pen?

Hey Kevin I use OBS studio to capture my excel videos with my cursor highlightor on. But after I finish my recording, when I see the video I can see my cursor highlighter pls solve my issue by replying to me P. S. I use the same highlighter as yours !!!!

actually you can't see the moustache in OBS because you chroma keyed the color black 🤓 Is there an option to select the chroma key background if you do this? Say I need the color black, could I set the window bg to green so black is visible but green isn't?
