RS best custom shop in the world
Banks & Partners: Defining, designing and building the new normal, daily. Taking the can’t and doing it like no other. You can Banks on it! Cheers, KP
Wow! I started my working carrier in a body shop, nearly half a century ago. It really was my first love where my imagination usually out paced my budget. Eventually I moved on to bigger and better things. But I'll never get tired of seeing people turn dreams into reality. The RS tour, seeing all those cool projects and project Lok Jaw it's better than a trip to Disney Land to me.
So hooked on this build, can't wait to see it progress!

I've lusted after Roadster Shop stuff for years, it's so cool to see their base of operations.
DeBoss Garage already doing this build, just on a budget. Duramax with Allison on air ride with 8 lug wheels. They should set the trucks up next to one another at the next SEMA show. I got a 64 c10 with common rail 4BT with Allison and full float 9”. Put diesels in everything. Then hit them with Nitrous and methanol-injection, so much fun. Good luck to all the builders.
Wowser, now this is a crazy unique, one-off build!!
This is going to be sweet!

We'll do the best we can. The problem is that the engine can only go so low. Luckily, the new Whipple 3.8L is fairly low profile. The height of the engine will hinge on the thickness of the intercooler core if we decide to sandwich it under the blower or place it in the valley.
I love the power wagon I have a 1980 w150 power wagon

cut the entire truck down the center and widen the whole thing. Roadster Shop looks like they have sheet metal guys that are capable.

Great idea, but that would change the geometry for the chassis. We're using Roadster Shop's Spec Series chassis which is available to anyone. It's something they stock. Ours will have a few slight modifications (reinforcements), but overall, it's a standard Roadster Shop SPEC Series C-10 chassis.
Lock jaw is a bad ass machine
I need to do something like this to my 63 dodge D 100 stepside. Short bed.
It'd be sweet to make the two frame rails the exhaust and have it just dump straight out of the back

Why 9” rear end? Why not a GM axle with a Bank’s cover? If there’s no room in the engine bay, why don’t you go tube chassis from the firewall forward? Push the spindles into the front wheels to keep the a-arms long enough like fwd cars
Haha he said “Diesel motor”... lol
Why not set up the front end with the use of stock GM 3500 spindle and hub bearing assembly? We all know those pieces can take the load AND the beating.
You can almost bet that RS will have to widen the truck body itself.
Like how Tesla may have influenced the door handles
I’m not surprised it’s their first duramax I would be if it was their first Cummins

Ford 9” are strong, but that’s a lot of torque, weight, and rotating mass for a 9”. A 10” ring gear might be more suitable, especially if yall plan to beat on this thing. Maybe a Mark Williams 11”, I guess time will tell.

It's strong, yeah, but it's a freakin' rock magnet! Even shaved those things are so huge. It's certainly become the default go-to for cheap and strong in the crawling world but I do still prefer a drop-out center like the 9" This thing is going to be a pavement princess, the 9" will be plenty strong and smaller. Also funny how everybody is freaking out about 8 lug stuff. I guess they're not aware of the giant 4x4 aftermarket for one ton axles??

You could just put it on a early 2000s 2500 chassis for probably 1/10 the cost. This stuff is cool and all but ridiculous money compared to a junkyard chassis that does the same thing.

I was thinking the same thing. However, this project probably is an attempt to expand the chassis building and customization industry. In the business world the rule is grow or die.

These companies are amazing at what they do. But getting them to do 8-lug parts was a challenge because they're so busy. And, they're concerned that the 8-lug market is not their normal clientele. We hope this video series will open up a whole new market for everyone involved.

@@bankspower it's pretty standard stuff in the 4x4 world. One ton swaps are about as common as breathing air. Shouldn't be any issue finding suppliers.
Shows a liittle over produced guys. This isn't reality TV on discovery. When you have a guy running into the shot saying "tell me about this sheet metal!" You've set cameras up these guys have been talking off camera for 15 minutes already. It's not the first time they've seen the vehicle. The fake "wow" factor is a bygone of legacy media.

The fake slide projector sound effect needs to be killed. Power Wagons are four wheel drive and are W-series. D-series Dodges are two wheel drive. Say "the next thing" one more time could you? Marketing. It's the new hot rodding!
